School Master Planning Advisory Committee <br /> Charge <br /> Members: 14 members <br /> Appointed By: School Committee <br /> Length of Term: One year <br /> Meeting Times: Monthly or as determined by the Advisory Committee <br /> Description: The School Master Planning Advisory Committee ("Advisory Committee") is being <br /> established pursuant to School Committee Policy BDF. The School Committee has determined <br /> that developing a master plan for school capital projects is necessary and prudent as Lexington <br /> continues to experience enrollment growth at all grade levels. The Advisory Committee will <br /> develop and recommend a 5-10 year capital plan for school facilities, analyzing current facilities <br /> and enrollment forecasts, and developing conceptual plans and timelines for needed additional <br /> educational spaces. DiNisco Design will provide professional support for this effort pursuant to <br /> an existing contract. <br /> The work of the School Master Planning Advisory Committee will include, but not be limited to: <br /> 1. Assess current capacity findings and identify options to align future school <br /> capacities with enrollment projections and educational program <br /> requirements; <br /> 2. Develop recommendations for addressing capacity, including costs and <br /> timelines; <br /> 3. Prepare a Final Report and Recommendations to the School Committee. <br /> Criteria for Membership: The Advisory Committee members shall consist of staff and citizens, <br /> with sufficient background to understand facility assessments and the impact of facilities on the <br /> education process. <br /> Composition: School Committee (2), Board of Selectmen (1), Permanent Building Committee <br /> (1), Superintendent of Schools (1), Director of Public Facilities (1), Director of Planning and <br /> Assessment (1), Capital Expenditures Committee Liaison (1), Appropriation Committee Liaison <br /> (1), the chair of the PTA/0 Presidents' Council (1), representative from SEPAC (1), high school <br /> student (1), citizens selected through application process (2). <br />
