o New programs have been added and we have found additional instructors to take over <br /> the classes that normally stop over the summer. <br /> o An Archery program for ages 60+was offered and 18 people attended the free demo, <br /> after which 8 people registered for the 4-class session. <br /> o The Arbor Day Celebration on April 27"'had a great turnout. Three new trees added <br /> to the property to commemorate the I I people that passed away from the Lexington <br /> Field and Garden Club; dog wood, shag bark maple, and an elm. We would love to <br /> see it happen at the Community Center again next year. <br /> 0 10 members from the Garden Club did some additional grooming of the CC grounds. <br /> The garden club has formed an agreement with DPW to assist alongside the <br /> landscaping group, providing skilled pruning, and planting and garden bed design. <br /> o Recreation and Community Programs received grant funding from the Dana Home <br /> Foundation for the Forever Fit program again this year. $5000 has been dedicated to <br /> senior financial assistance. <br /> o We are finishing up CEL grant and actively looking to hire someone for CPR <br /> training. Interviews have been set for next week. <br /> o The Bike Smart program is scheduled for this Saturday if it does not rain. 24 kids, <br /> ages 9-11, will participate in the program sponsored by bike committee and the Police <br /> Department from 2-4pm. There will also be a bike maintenance workshop in the <br /> dining room that day. <br /> o The Kimball Farm middle school early release trip is full with 40 participants from <br /> Clarke and Diamond <br /> o There will be a Family Trivia Night offered on May 18th <br /> o Kids Test Kitchen, Martial Arts, Chess, Fencing, Women's Boxing, and Situational <br /> Awareness for Adults are among the current spring offerings. <br /> o The End of the Summer Party is scheduled for August 17t1i Sponsorship <br /> opportunities are available. <br /> o The Pool Grand Re-opening celebration will take place on June 16". <br /> Charlotte Rodgers reports on behalf of Human Services: <br /> o Tony Serio has been hired as the new Youth &Family Clinical Social Worker. <br /> o Tony will collaborate with Recreation to facilitate the financial assistance provided <br /> by the Fund for Lexington as well as the Human Services fund. The donated amount <br /> was raised from $10,000 to $15,000 this year. The priority is that no family will go <br /> without a swim pass if need is demonstrated.
