TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />Massachusetts <br />02173 <br />Minutes of the July 3, 1997 Meeting <br />HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMNIISSION <br />Commissioners in attendance: Rick Bechtel, Sarah Chase, Mark DiNapoli, Elaine Doran, and <br />Steve Politi <br />Petitions Heard: <br />1736 Massachusetts Avenue- -Lean Hunt from Great Harvest Bread proposed a window box to be <br />mounted on the building around the front window. The installation of a permanent window box <br />was approved. Certificate No.: 97C -55 <br />1106 Massachusetts Avenue —The shingles on the north side are worn and the residents arc <br />contemplating replacing them with clapboards instead of shingles. It was also suggested that they <br />explore alternatives to metal chimney caps. The hearing was continued. <br />1646 Massachusetts Avenue — Spaulding Management said they did not have the proper materials to <br />present the sign. The hearing was continued. <br />Depot/Emery Park -- Landscaping changes were presented as were the lampposts, benches and <br />trash containers. The plantings will be the subject of a future Certificate of Appropriateness. The <br />landscape changes were approved. Certificate No.: 97C -56 <br />1265 Massachusetts Avenue —Greg Gaklis presented a sign for Seasons Four. The sign was <br />approved. Certificate No.: 97C -57 <br />1646 Massachusetts Avenue— Spaulding Management presented architectural changes which were <br />approved as presented in the plans. The hearing was continued to allow the petitioner to return if <br />needed. Certificate No.: 97C -58 <br />1656 Massachusetts Avenue —The handrail was approved. Certificate No. 97C -59 <br />No petitioners showed up to present the remainder of the continued and informal hearings. <br />
