A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held at 8s06 P.M.
on Wednesday, July 23, 1984, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office
Building, Lexington. Present were Commissioners John R. Packard, Chairman;
John L. Davies; Roland B. Greeley; Ann Wallace; and Associate Commissioner
Hoxard C. Nason.
At Ss00 P.M. Mr. William Allen presented a plan for fencing in his
pe.tio at 11 Judges Road. The Commission discussed the matter in some
detail and made suggestions on color to be incorporated in a certificate.
Approval of the application was accordingly VOTED.
At 8s2,5 P.M. Mr. & Mrs. James Shimansky presented plans for an addition
to their house at 53b-~2 Massachusetts Avenue and plans for a swimming pool
with fence. After discussion approval of these plans was duly VOTED.
Deferred until a later date were decisions about the front door and porch-
way, shutters, and a sign for the applicant's auto business, all of which
will be the subject of a separate application.
At 9:20 P.M. Chief Bergeron returned xith new designs for new overhead
doors at the main fire station on Bedford Street. Those achieved the Com-
mission's objective of having something not much different from the existing
doors, and approval was accordingly VOTED.
It remained to consider the application of Pewter Pot, Inc. for a new
sign at 1710 Massachusetts Avenue, already illegally erected. Since the
applicant failed to prosecute its application, it was unanimously VOTED to
disapprove the same and to seek the assistance of the Building Department
in removing it.
The meeting was adjourned at 9s~+(? P.M.
