Novemb~ 5, 1967 The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in the public notice of healing on the application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by The Clothes-Out, Inc. with respect to the erection and displs.y of signs on the premises at 1725 Massachusetts Avenu®, which is within t'na Battle Green District. A.4embers present were Commissioners 'Wilbur Ivi. Jaquith, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth G. Bevan, T.~a~ H. Straw and George F. Graves and ~?ssociate Commissioner George ~JU. rmary. The Chairman read the letter of application and the notice of hearing. The applicant was not present since drywin~s received by the Chairman prior to the meeting were not drs.wn to scale and. were unacceptable.. The Clerk will notify Izir. 'lolf, the applicant, that an adjourned hc:.ring will be held at 9:00 P.M., on idovember 15, 1967. The hearing was adjourned at 7:45 P.iJi. alt 7:50 P.M., Mark Yoore, Jr. representing it2oore Homes, Inc, appeared with respect to a change in the exterior color features of the dvrelling now being erected on Zot ,~9, ~righasn Road under Certificate of r,ppropriate- ness #231 issued by the Commission on ;eptember 7, 1967, which is within the Hancock-Clarke District. The Chairman read Tvir. Ivoorc~s letter with regard to said color change. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate to the applicant. Mr. Moore retired from the meeting at 8:00 P.M. i-Learing was scheduled for 8:00 P.i+4. on the application of Harvard Trust Company for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to the erection of a fence on the premises at 1761-1765 b;assachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. The Chairman read to the Commission a letter withdrawing the application. The Clerk was directed to include the following statement and vote in the Ia~inutcs of the meeting: " letter from Harvard Trust Company dated October 21a., 1967 withdrawing application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the erection of a fence at 1761-1765 r,Iassachusetts avenue was read at the time scheduled for hearing. L7pon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED that the withdrawal be accepted". ?Tearing was held at 8:20 P.M. on the application of Clifford G. Hunt, D.P:'.D. with respect to the erection and display of two additional signs on the premises at ].I~.Tluzzey Street, which is within the Battle Green District. The Chairman read the letter of application and tc:e notice of hen.ring. Drs. Hunt and Reichheld appeared and Dr. Hunt presented full sole sketches of the two signs and photographs showing the proposed locations of the signs. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a. Certificate to the applicant. ido other persons having appeared the hearing was closed at 8:50 P.T~i. District This Certificate is granted to change the color of the clapboards, downspouts and garage doors from the olive-drab color approved under the aforesaid Certificate to a golden eagle color to match as nearly as possible the sample submitted to the Commission at its meeting on November 1, 1967. All other exterior architec- tural features of the dvrelling and garage are to be painted as specified in said Certificate #231. Hunt, D.Pr~.D. with respect to the erection and display of two additional signs on the premises ll} Nuzzey Street ' as noted below, at which is within the ....Battle..Green District The first of these signs consists of a wood panel by 25" having a sand-finished black background with glossy black border approxi- mately wide and the legend in gold letters on b®th sides: " John N. Reichheld, D.M.D Orthodontist " The type and style of lettering appear on the full scale sketch submitted t© the Commission at the hearing on November 1, 1967. This sign is to be hung directly beneath the hanging sign on the front elevation approved in paragraph ,~`1 of Certificate X65 issued j t® Dr. Hunt by the Commission on November 17, 1960. I The sec©nd of these signs consists of a wood panel approximately s~8" by 21}" having a gl©ssy black background and the legend in gold letters on one side: " Dr. John N. Reichheld " The type and style of lettering appear on the sketch submitted at the aforesaid hearing. This sign is to be fastened flush to the entrance door on the rear elevation of the building directly beneath the present sign bearing the legend: " Dr. Clifford G.
