September 9, 1965 The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified. in the public notice of the hearing on the application of the Trustees of 1775 Realty Trust for a Certificate of Appropriatersesa xith respect to the demolition of the building located at 1777 - 1793 ~ssaehusetts Avenue, xhich is xithin the Hattls Grssn District. Pre~nt Hers Donald R. Grant, Chainaan, Pip B. Parsons, Secretary Ruth Bevan and Wilbur M. Jaquith and,Asaoeiate Commissioners Max H. Strax and Donald B. White. The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application dated August 12, 1965, Present in behalf of the application Has Mr. Frederick J. Conroy Attorney for the Trustees of the 1775 Realty Trusty Rio answered questions asked by the commission members. Mr. Lincola P. Coley Chairman of the Board of Selectmen stated that the Board of Selectmen Hers unanimously in favor of the granting of this permit. The hearing was adjo~.~rned at 8s10 P.M. Upon motion duly made and secoxded, it Has unanimously VOTED to issue a Permit for Demolition to the Trustees of 1775 Realty Trust for the demolition of the existing building at 1777 - 1793 Massachusetts Avenues xhich is xithin the Battle Green District. Mr. 4R'ilbur Jaquith did not vote on this application. .Also present at the meeting Hers 1[r. Raymond Scheublin, President Lexington Trust Compaq and Mr. Paul, Architect, the hearing of xhich Has continued from August 5, 1965. Mr. Scheublin presented the commission xith a set of three scale draxings of tdse proposed changes in the existing building at 9 Muzzey Street, the parking lot and driveways. Questions Hare asked by the commission members, and there being no further questions ff'oat those present at the hearing, the hearing Has adjourned at 8:30 P. M. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it Has unanimously VOTED to grant a Certificate of Appropriateness to Lexington Trust Company xith respect to changes irr the exterior architectural features of the building at 9 Muzzey Street and xitk respect to changes in tho parking lot and drivexa3?s is the area between the bank building, a s to be extended pursua~rt to Certificate No. llt2 issued under data of ~ 20~ 1965, and to the office building at 9 Mu.zzey Street, which is within the Batt]a Green District. ~sarimg was held at 8:30 P. M. on the application of Trustees of Felix Realty Trust. for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to changes in the exterior architectural features of the building and as to certain signs to L be erected on said buildings at 1806 - 1810 Massachusetts Avenue on the corner of Muzzey Strsst, ~daich is within the Battle Green Die tract, Prese~at in behalf of the application Hers C. Harry Erickson, Architect, a~ad Mr. Earls H. 3trzet of Strsst and Co., Inc. the managing real estate agents for Felix Realty Trust, Mr. Erickson presented the commission with a scale draaring xhich shoxsd the proposed changes on the building, and a drawing of the • proposed sign to be erected at 1810 Massachusetts Avenue by Theatre Camara, the hearing of xhich was continued from August 6, 1965. Mr. Erickson also showed the commission photographs of other., signs along Massachusetts Avenue. Many questions Here asked Mr. Erickson and 3~r. Street.. The hearing was adjourned at 9:15 P.~d. The chairman asked it there was any one present representing the Trustees of Cs,ry Memorial Library, No one was present. Hearing was held on Daly 7, 1965, on the application of Cary Library for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to changes in the exterior architectural features of the Library sad the surrounding structures at 187l~ Massachusetts, which is within the Battle Green District. IIpon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to Degy the application of the Tretistees of Cary liesaaorial Library for the lack of prosecution arad without prejudice to the renewal of the a~plicatiom or t}ae filing of a different sgplication at a later date.
