The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and
place specified in the public notice of the hearing on the application
of Felix Realty Trust for a certificate of appropriateness ror changes
in the exterior architectural features on the premises at 1792 -
1800 Massachusetts Avenue inclusive, which is within the Battle
Green District.
Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons,
Secretary, Edwin B. Worthen, Jr., Donald E. Legro, and Associate
Member Arnold E. Howard.
The chairman read the letter of application received from
Felix R ealty Trust. Appearing in favor of the application were
Miss Agnes Viano, Miss Lillian V iano, and Mr. C. Harry Erickscin,
Architect. Questions were asked by various members of the commission
and the photographs of the present building and the plans showing
proposed changes were viewed. The hearing was adjourned at 8:30 P. M.
On motion made and duly seconded, it was unanimously VOTED
to grant to Felix Realty Tlrust, a certificate of appropriateness
with respect to changes in the exterior architectural features of
the building at 1792 - 1800 Massachusetts Avenue (inclusive).
The chairman read a letter received from the town with
regard to the annual budget. There was considerable discussion as
to the amount of money needed by the commission for the coding year,
1961. It was pointed out that there are still many sign applications
to be received before November 1961. On motion made and duly seconded,
it was unanimously VOTED that the commission request $700.00 for the
1961 budget.
On motion madd and duly seconded, it was unanimously VOTED
that Edwin B. Worthen, Jr., be designated to prepare the minutes
of the meeting held by the commission on Wednesday, November 16, 1960,
such action necessary in view of the absence of the secretary at
this meeting.
It was announced that the next meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, December 28, 1960, with three applications: Lexington
Masonic Associates, The Church of Our Redeemer, and Mrs. John Whalen,
11 Harrington Hoad.
The meeting was adjourned at : 5 . M.
