PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />November 8, 1976 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />by the chairman Mr. MacKenzie with members Friedman, Brown, Clarke, Zabin, <br />planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in atten- <br />dance was John Crowe, D.A.C. <br />Minutes of Planning Board meeting of October 12, 1976, were approved as MINUTES 10/12 <br />written. <br />The Board reviewed a plan submitted with Form A76-25 by Philip C. Heidkre FORM A76-25 <br />(Heidke), showing Lots A, B and C at Concord Ave. and Spring St. Dis- SPRING ST.& <br />cussion followed as to legality of frontage as provided for Lots C and CONCORD AVE. <br />B. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: HEIDKE <br />The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington Mass", dated October 26, <br />1976, by Oiva E. Hintsa Associates, showing Lots A, B, C at Concord <br />Avenue and Spring Street, submitted by Philip C. Heidke on November 4, <br />1976, REOUIRES APPROVAL under the Subdivision Control Law. <br />Lynn Hamilton was present for discussion of acceptance by the Planning SUMMARY,RECR. <br />Board of the Summary - Master Plan for Recreation and Open Space. Upon & OPEN SPACE <br />a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to accept the summary which MASTER PLAN <br />will he transmitted (with cover letter) to the Recreation Committee. <br />Copies of the summary will also be sent by the Planning Board to: all; <br />members of the Bd. of Selectmen, Conservation Comm., Appropriations Comm., <br />' Cap. Expenditures Comm., Permanent Bldg. Comm., School Comm., and to <br />the chairman of TMMA and the Town Manager. Recreation Committee will <br />accomplish distribution of the summary to Town Meeting members. Ms. <br />Hamilton was congratulated on the quality of the study, and thanked for <br />her efforts. <br />Ten residents of Nickerson Road were present to ask Planning Board NICKERSON RD. <br />support for their petition to the Board of Selectmen that existing UNDERGROUND <br />underground installation of utilities on that street not he replaced by UTILITY WIRING <br />utility poles. It was agreed that a letter requesting continuation of <br />underground service on Nickerson Road be written to the Board of Select- <br />men, reflecting current Planning Board policy on the matter. <br />Memo from Angela Frick, Chairman, Conservation Comm., dated November 3, SELF HELP <br />1976, was noted in which she requests Planning Board assistance in FUNDING <br />complying with regulations involved in obtaining State and Federal <br />funding for Lexington. Attached to the memo was a copy of a memo from <br />Sec. Murphy, Office of Environmental Affairs, dated October 10, 1976, <br />and a listing of planning requirements for Municipal participation in <br />the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Massachusetts <br />Self-help program. The plannina director and the chairman will work <br />out details as to extent and areas of involvement of the Planning staff <br />in accomplishing the work. <br />Memo from the Conservation Commission to Mr. McSweeney, Director DPW/ TOWN WIDE <br />Engr., dated November 3, 1976, suggesting that Munroe Brook watershed DRAINAGE <br />be considered as the first study area in the upcoming Town -wide drain- STUDY <br />age study, was noted. Following discussion of Planning Board view on <br />the matter, the planning director was instructed to inform Mr. McSweeney, <br />
