r <br />1 <br />n <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />October 29, 1974 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members Costello, MacKenzie, L. Brown, and <br />S. Brown, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in <br />attendance were Gary Marshall, DAC, and Paul Restuccia, Lexington Patriot. <br />Mr. Briggs reported on latest revision of the Ostroff proposal for devel- OSTROFF <br />opment at "First" and "Second" streets and showed sketches of 13 (Ostroff BATTLEVIEW <br />design) lots and 9 (planning director design) lots on the parcel. Status <br />of the streets and alternative designs were discussed. It was generally <br />agreed that the Planning Board may consider less than full zoning require- <br />ments with the possibility of combination with abutting Modoono land. <br />Town Counsel will be consulted as to advisability of such a compromise. <br />At 8:10 p.m. the Board joined the Bd. of Selectmen for an informative <br />briefing by George Stuopis, H. W. Lochner, on plans for the Hartwell Ave. <br />connector road and 400 car fringe parking area. Also in attendance were <br />Messrs Ricciardi and Murphy, State DPW. Mr. Stuopis pointed out location <br />of the road and lot, alignment of which is the same as a plan presented <br />in 1973. Proximity to Tophet Swamp was noted, and elevations for the lot <br />were given. There are few land takings anticipated as most land involved <br />is Town -owned. A public hearing on the proposal will be held on Nov. 19, <br />1974, at 8 p.m. in Cary Memorial Hall. <br />At 9:55 p.m. the Planning Board returned to its office. <br />HARTWELL AVE. <br />CONNECTOR <br />The Bd. of Appeals decision against the Postal Facility Building, proposed <br />for Hayden Avenue was noted, and future of the existing Post Office build -POSTAL SERV. <br />ing on Massachusetts Ave. discussed. FACILITY BLDG <br />Initiation of an Article (1975 A.T.M.) to extend the CBD sidewalk design CBD SIDEWALK <br />was suggested. Mr. Marshall, D.A.C., agreed to report on the concept. <br />Mr. Briggs reported on his review of Bicentennial Farms definitive sub- BICENTENNIAL <br />division plans, submitted on October 18, 1974. All zoning by-law and FARMS SUBD. <br />subdivision rules & regulations requirements for definitive plan sub- <br />mission have been met. The public hearing is scheduled for November 18, <br />1974, at 8 p.m. in the Planning Board office. <br />It was decided that the public hearing on the definitive plans for CENTRE ESTAUS <br />Centre Estates subdivision will be held on Nov. 25, 1974, at 8 p.m. in <br />the Planning Board office. <br />The Town Clerk will be informed that the Planning Board will hold regular <br />meetings each Monday during the months of November and December.
