F_ <br />1 <br />[ I <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />August 27, 1973 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />by the chairman Dr. Clarke with members L. Brown, S. Brown, D. Graham, <br />planning director Briggs, and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in atten- <br />dance were K. Kreutaiger, DAC, A. Frick and M. Rawls, Conservation Commission, <br />F. Sandy, CLC, and C. Waixel, Lexington Minute -Man. <br />Request from Barry Solar, Esq. on behalf of C-R Trust for extension of time <br />within which the Planning Board must act on the preliminary subdivision <br />plan submitted on Jan. 29, 1973, was read by the chairman. Upon a motion <br />duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: <br />To extend to November 27, 1973, inclusive, the time within <br />which the Lexington Planning Board must act on the preliminary <br />subdivision plan entitled "Preliminary Plan of Land in Lexington, <br />Mass., Property of C-R Trust", dated January 26, 1973. <br />The Town Clerk will be informed of this action of the Board. <br />C-R TRUST EXTEN- <br />SION <br />The proponent of the development will be requested to meet with the <br />Planning Board at the end of September for a status report on progress <br />with negotiations with Waltham re sewer and water services. It was <br />agreed that effort will be made by the Planning Board to formulate a <br />policy to place limitation on time extensions for preliminary <br />subdivision plans. <br />Mr. Ted Freeman, Heritage Realty, met with the Board at 7:40 p.m. for <br />informal discussion of plans for a subdivision of the Swenson land on <br />Allen St. Eight lots are planned with frontage on Allan and Waltham <br />streets and a subdivision of five lots on a proposed 425' cul-de-sac. <br />Possibility of cluster subdivision, avoiding need for access from MINUTEMAN RIDGE <br />Waltham Street, was discussed. Mr. Freeman will confer with the #IMRSION <br />planning director as to alternate design plans and sites, prior to <br />formal submission of a preliminary subdivision plan. <br />Richard Hamilton met with the Board by appointment at 8 p.m. for FARMHURST SEC.5 <br />discussion of preliminary subdivision plan entitled "Farmhurst, Sec.HAMILTON <br />5", submitted on August 17, 1973. Plan for five lots at Valleyfield <br />St. showing drainage and sewer features, was displayed. The developer <br />was requested to supply a plan showing existing and proposed contours <br />for all lots in the subdivision and reference was made to his prior <br />meeting with the Conservation Commission regarding lot 115. Mr. Briggs <br />will review the plan and the site for report to the Board on Sept. 4. <br />Mr. Van T. Boughton, W. R. Grace Co., and Mr. Cassidy, Beckstoffer W.R. GRACE F&D <br />& Hunter, met with the Board at 8:30 p.m. to outline a forthcoming B/A <br />petition for additional construction at the Grace Co. Hayden Ave. <br />site. Existing and proposed building and parking area was shown on a <br />site layout plan. Drainage plans were explained by Mr. Cassidy and <br />need for installation of impurity traps were noted by Mrs. Rawls. <br />Drawings of the proposed office building (south and west elevations) <br />and addition to the laboratory were displayed. Possible future ex- <br />pansion plans were mentioned by Mr. Boughton. The Board of Appeals <br />will be petitioned for a finding and determination and site plan <br />review in the near future. <br />
