PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />May 7, 1973 <br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:34 p.m. <br />the the chairman Mrs. Brown with members Graham, Costello, S. Brown, planning <br />director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in attendance were <br />F. Sandy, CLC, and L. Notkin, DAC. <br />The minutes of Planning Board meeting of April 17, 1973, were approved as MINUTES 4/17/73 <br />amended. <br />A memorandum from the Town Manager, dated April 30, 1973, regarding a COMMUNITY <br />meeting of representatives of Town agencies for discussion of "community DEVELOPMENT MTG <br />improvement" and development and implementation of long range plans for <br />Lexington, was noted. Mr. Graham and Mrs. Brown plan to attend. <br />Copy of a letter dated May 2, 1973, from the Chairman of the Appeals BoardLEXINGTON PRESS <br />to Mr. Wilbur R. Fletcher regarding future use of Lexington Press propertyLAND USE <br />on Oakland St. was noted. No action by the Board was deemed necessary. <br />Draft of a letter by Mr. Briggs with Planning Board recommendations on LEX. INV. & <br />the plan of Lexington Investment & Development Corp. (subject of F&D B/A DEV. CORP.F&D <br />hearing on May 9, 1973) was reviewed. Drainage problem as cited by the <br />Town Engineer (letter dated May 3, 1973), and parking stall and aisle <br />dimensions as shown, were discussed. The Board voted to urge disapproval <br />of the peitition, and approved the letter as to content, subject to revisions <br />by Mrs. Brown as to its form. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m. for the holding of a public hearing on COLUMBUS ST <br />the Columbus St. subdivision. SUBD. PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br />The meeting resumed at 9:15 p.m. <br />The Board reviewed a draft by Mrs. Brown of a letter to Mr. Callaghan, CUL DE SAC <br />Town Counsel, regarding permitted length of dead-end streets, specific- LENGTH <br />ally concerning Wellington Lane Ave, and proposed street shown in WILLOW RIDGE <br />Willow Ridge subdivision plans. A letter from the developer's attorney, <br />Thomas W. Callahan, dated May 2, 1973, was noted. Following discussion <br />of content of Mrs. Brown's draft, it was agreed that Mr. Briggs and <br />Mrs. Brown will confer with the Town Counsel, Mr. Cohen, on the matter. <br />Mr. Costello reported on unsuccessful search in 1967-68 Planning Board <br />minutes for evidence of vote of the Planning Board with respect to legal STREET STATUS <br />status of streets shown on the Zoning Map. Furhter research will be ZONING MAP <br />undertaken to determine legal status of streets as they appear on the map. <br />The following Board of Appeals notices of <br />hearings to be held on May 22, <br />1973, were noted: <br />B/A 5/22 <br />SnellKeljikian <br />Snell, 4 Bennington Rd., inadequate side <br />yard <br />Keljikian, parking area, 7 and 27 Mass. <br />Ave. <br />Mel-Nor <br />Mel -Nor Realty Trust, use change at 1049 <br />Mass. Ave. <br />Mrs. Brown will confer with Mr. Nickerson <br />on details of the Mel Nor <br />petition. <br />No Planning Board comment will be made on <br />any of these petitions. <br />
