PLANNING BOARD MEETING

<br />The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:40 p.m.
<br />by the Vice Chairman Dr. Clarke with members Costello, S. Brown, Graham,
<br />planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Mrs. Brown joined
<br />the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Also in attendance were Kenneth Kreutziger, DAC,
<br />and Margaret Rawls, Conservation Commission.
<br />The minutes of Planning Board meeting of April 9, 1973, were approved as

<br />The Board reviewed the request of Dean Nicholson, Esq., on behalf of the COLUMBUS ST
<br />proponent of Columbus St. subdivision for an extension of time from May 7,SUBDIVISION
<br />1973, to May 14, 1973. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED:
<br />To extend to May 14, 1973, inclusive, the time within which the Planning
<br />Board must act on the definitive subdivision plan entified "Subdivision
<br />of Land in Lexington, Mass., owned by Donald M. & Mary C. MacMillan", EXTENSION
<br />dated Feb. 26, 1973, by John R. Snelling Associates, as requested by
<br />Dean E. Nicholson, Esq., thereto duly authorized.
<br />The Town Clerk will be informed of this action of the Board.
<br />Draft of a letter to the Appeals Board by Mrs. Brown, on the petition of
<br />Bottos (Bd. of Appeals hearing 4/24/73) was reviewed. The parking area BOTTOS PIZZA
<br />design for the proposed pizza house at 315 Marrett Rd. and general trafficHOUSE B/A
<br />' conditions at the Marrett Rd./Waltham St. intersection were discussed. HEARING 4/24
<br />The letter, recommending denial of the petition, was approved as amended.
<br />Draft of a letter by Mrs. Brown regarding the Manickas petition for MANICKAS
<br />addition to a building at 801-803 Massachusetts Avenue was reviewed, 801 MASS.AVE.

<br />Proposal by C. E. Maguire, Inc. consultant, to the Engr. Dept. on a study TOPHET SWAMP
<br />of the sanitary landfill area was noted and briefly reviewed by Dr. ClarkeSTUDY
<br />A meeting of representatives of the Planning Board, Conservation Comm., SANITARY LAND
<br />Engr. Dept., and C. E. Maghire, Inc. is scheduled for 10 a.m. on April 25,FILL STUDY
<br />1973, for discussion of expansion of the landfill study to cover the
<br />entire Tophet Swamp area (additional work to be funded under Art. 54).
<br />A letter from the Town Counsel, dated April 17, 1973, responding to HOME OCCUPATION
<br />Planning Board request for opinion as to definition of "home occupation" DEFINITION
<br />was read in part by Mrs. Brown. Further discussion of the matter was
<br />tabled until such time as Mrs. Ruth Mitchell, whose letter dated Feb. 21,
<br />1973, is relevant to the subject, is present.
<br />Invitation to attend a Bicentennial Conference on May 11, sponsored by BICENTENNIAL
<br />the Revolutionary War Bicentennial Committee, was noted. Mrs. Brown CONFERENCE 5/11
<br />plans to attend.
<br />' Copies of letters from the Selectmen to the Town Clerk and to the Town STREET ACCEPT.
<br />Treasurer dated April 18, 1973, regarding acceptance by the Town of street OINE BROOK I&II
<br />in Vine Brook I & II subdivisions were noted.
