LJ <br />1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />June 21, 1971 <br />The meeting of the Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. on <br />June 21, 1971, by chairman Mrs. Brown, with members Clarke, Graham, <br />Costello, Lund, planning director Zaleski and secretary Mrs. Snow attend- <br />ing. Also present were Mr. Frank Sandy and Mr. Thomas Curran. <br />The minutes of Planning Board meetings of June 10 and 14, 1971, were <br />approved. <br />The minutes of Planning Board meeting of June 7, 1971, were approved as <br />corrected. <br />Mr. Zaleski was asked to investigate whether acquisition of the triangle <br />of land at Fern and Pleasant streets is still possible since the "for <br />sale" sign on the property has been removed. <br />"Ground Rules for Meetings", a memo submitted by Mr. Zaleski was read by <br />Mrs. Brown. Copies of this are to be given to the members of the Board. <br />Upon a motion duly made and seconded it was unanimously VOTED: <br />MINUTES <br />6/10&6/14 <br />MINUTES <br />6/7 <br />To extend to August 3, 1971, inclusive, the time for Planing Board <br />action on the definitive subdivision plan entitled "Idylwilde", <br />dated Dec.29, 1969, as requested in writing by the applicant, Trustee <br />of JoJen Realty Trust. <br />The adoption of a specific policy for minimum extension time was discussed. <br />DEVER HOUSE <br />GROUND RULES <br />FOR MEETINGS <br />"IDYLWILDE" <br />EXTENSIONS <br />The letter to Mr. John J. Sullivan, surveyor, from the Planning Board in- REGULATIONS, <br />forming him of regulations as regards lettering and form of endorsement SUBMITTED <br />on plans submitted to the Board was approved. PLANS <br />A memo from Mr. Zaleski to the Board regarding Overdue Subdivisions was OVERDUE SUB - <br />discussed. It was agreed that the chairman and Mr. Zaleski will draft DIVISIONS <br />a letter to be sent to each of the developers of the 10 subdivisions in <br />default, advising that legal action can be taken unless work is completed <br />and/or corrected by a specific date. The Town Manager is to be invited to <br />attend a Planning Board meeting on July 7th ao discuss this situation. <br />Mr. Robert Perkins, Jr., Park Supervisor of the Min. Man Nat'l Park, and BICENTENNIAL <br />Mr. Herbert Olson, Gen'l Superintendent of the Boston Nat'l Park Service CELEBRATION <br />Group met with the Board by appointment to inform the members of progress <br />in the plans for the 1975 Bicentennial celebration. Also present was <br />Mr. Kingston Howard, Gen'l Chairman of the Lexington Bicentennial Committee. <br />Mr. Perkins described the legislative authority, the services provided and, <br />in general, plans for future expansion of the Park. He mentioned the pro- <br />jected figure of 600,000 visitors during the year 1975, but Mr. Olson indi- <br />cated that the number would probably be closer to 1,000,000. The Park will <br />not be providing any facilities for camping on its grounds but will encour- <br />age private enterprise. Mrs. Ruth Morey joined the meeting at this time <br />and discussed the work being done by the Historical Society and the problems <br />being encountered. A copy of a report from Mr. Frederick Rath, Jr., N.Y. <br />State Historical Assoc., a consultant to the Society regarding the 1975 <br />celebration, was left by Mrs. Morey to be copied and distributed to the mem- <br />bers of the Board. <br />
