Town Meeting Articles 2, 3 and 4 on the Central Block were next to be considered. <br />It was agreed that there would be no formal report by the Board. Mrs. Brown ART:203,4 <br />will present the Planning Board recommendations at the Town Meeting using the <br />DAC report as a guideline and 500 copies of this report will be made for <br />distribution at the Public Information Meeting of June 9, 1971, and the <br />Special Town Meeting, June 14, 1971. <br />Referring to Art. 10 on the Burlington line strip, it was agreed that a ART.10 <br />tranparency showing the entire Town and indicating the locus of the strip BURLINGTON <br />in question should be shown at the Town Meeting, if not by the Selectmen, LINE STRIP <br />then by the Planning Board. <br />Art.12 was referred to regarding the addition to the Conservation Committee. ART.12 <br />After some discussion it was agreed to take no position on the matter. CONSERVATION <br />COMMISSION <br />The letter from Mr. Herbert Eisenberg with the views of the "Citizens Advis- <br />ory Board on Street Construction" regarding the installation of sidewalks was <br />read. A letter is to be sent to the Board of Selectmen asking that no action <br />be taken on this issue before further study by the Planning Board. <br />The traffic conditions at the junction of Fern and Pleasant streets and the <br />proposal of the Traffic Committee as outlined by Mr. Zaleski were discussed <br />at this time. It was suggested by Mr. Daley of the DAC that the 'Dever <br />House" which is located at this junction, was worth saving as an example of <br />19th century architecture. It was unanimously voted by the Planning Board <br />to support the recommendation of the TrAffic Committee: that some of the land <br />at the corner of this property should be taken to permit a redesign of the <br />junction which will improve traffic conditions, but that demolition of the <br />house should be avoided if possible. <br />Progress on the 1971 Work Program was briefly discussed. Mr. Graham reported WORK PROGRAM <br />that he had started to work on the bicycle path project and referred to the <br />Radcliffe plan. <br />Mr. Costello suggested that Mr. Robert Perkins of the Minute Man Historical BICENTENNIAL <br />Park be invited to meet with the Planning Board on May 21st, to exchange <br />ideas on the Bicentennial celebration plans. <br />Mr. Costello also referred to the mounds of earth which are seen on Waltham St. <br />near Rte. 2 and which spoil the appearance of the area. Mr. Zaleski will ask the <br />Town Engineer about ownership of this fill and what can be done to have it <br />removed or flattened. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 p.m. <br />1 <br />N\ <br />Donald M.
