u <br />1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />March 17, 1971 <br />The meeting of the Planning Board on March 17, 1971, was called to <br />order by Chairman Lund at 7:30 p.m. with members Clarke, Costello, <br />Mrs. Brown and planning director Zaleski present. <br />Copies of a redraft of a letter to the Board of Appeals regarding the <br />petition of Mr. Gaklis to extend the hours of operation and permit <br />portable cashiers' booths were distributed and discussed. It was decided <br />to have members of the Planning Board attend the Board of Appeals hearing. <br />The letter authorizing the Town Counsel to proceed with the settlement of <br />the Colonial Acres III subdivision was approved and signed. <br />The Town Manager joined the meeting at this time. <br />The Board also approved two letters to the Selectmen recommending against <br />the sale of tax title lots as follows: <br />1. Lots 82, 83 Colonial Ave. to Mrs. Schumacher, <br />2. Lots on Earl St. to Mr. Neale. <br />The wuchers for payment to Justin Gray Associates of $1,682.10 (previously <br />approved) and to Hutcheson Co. of $183.50 were approved and signed. <br />The report of the Planning Board on Article 73 was discussed, it was <br />decided not to change the report. He explained that the <br />Engineering Dept. lacks the manpower to do this design work and a number <br />of projects, which have accumulated and must be processed. The Board <br />took no position on Article 25, the proposal for $25,000 for engineering <br />services and the preparation of plans and specifications for the design, <br />construction or reconstruction of streets, in line, -with the new road <br />building policy set forth in the report of the committee on procedures <br />of street and sidewalk reconstruction.
