SIGN The Chairman reported that the Town Counsel had BY-LAW requested that representatives of the Board be appointed to serve on a committee with him and representatives of the Selectmen and Board of Appeals for the purpose of drafting a sign by-law for Lexington. i•Zr. Jaquith agreed to serve with Mr. Grindle on said committee. VINE Considered next by the Board were a series of VALLEY sketches made by Mr. Snow showing possible solutions for REALTY the development of the Vine Brook Realtv Trust land be - TRUST tween Vine Brook and Waltham Street. The Board selected the sketch showing one way located parallel to Vine Brook and connecting at right angles to the first and heading in a northwesterly and then southwesterly direction to form a dead-end street of a dog -leg design. Mr. Snow was asked to prepare a preliminary plan of this scheme and transmit it to Mr. Tropeano, it being understood that said plan would serve as a basis for the preparation of a definitive plan. Dear Mr. Gayer: At a meeting of the Planning Board held on Seotember 17, 1957 Mr. Stevens discussed with the Board the matter of street signs being required in subdivisions. At a sub- sequent meeting of the Board, it was decided that here- after, before approving a definitive subdivision plan, the Board shall require the location of the street signs to be shown on said plan with the notation thatthe definite location of said signs are to be designated by the Superintendent of Public Works. It was thought that by making such a requirement the subdivider would be re- minded that before the required work in the subdivision has been completed to the satisfaction of the 'Superintend- ent of Public Works, the subdivider is required to erect such signs under Sec. V.B.8. of the Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land in Lexington, Massachu- setts.
