1 <br />[JI <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD HEARING <br />June 6, 1957 <br />The Lexington Planning Board held a Public <br />Hearing on June 6, 1957 at 7:50 p.m. in Cary Halls <br />Cary Memorial Building to consider proposals to <br />amend the Lexington Zoning By-law so as to pro- <br />vide for al� additional type of zoning district to <br />be designated C 4 --Regional Shopping Center Dis- <br />tricts in accordance with the notice of the hear- <br />ings copy of which is appended to the stenographic <br />record of the hearing. Present were Chairman <br />Grindles Vice Chairman Jaquith, Members Abbotts <br />Burnells and Soules and Messrs. Howlett and Snow <br />of the staff. Approximately 1000 persons attended <br />the hearing. <br />Chairman Grindle opened the hearing by reading <br />the first paragraph of the notice of the hearing as <br />it was published in the May 23, 1957 issue of the <br />Lexington Minute -man and stating that the reading <br />of the remainder of the notice would be omitted. <br />Copies of the notice as it appeared in the Minute- <br />man had been sent to all property owners deemed to <br />be affected. Mimeographed copies of the proposal <br />were distributed at the hearing. <br />A complete stenographic record of the hearing . <br />was taken and prepared for the Planning Board by <br />Philip H. and Lawrence W. Burt, shorthand reporters, <br />31 Milk Street, Boston 9, Massachusetts. The 112 - <br />page typewritten report prepared by said reporters <br />and dated June 6, 1957 is incorporated in the per- <br />manent records of the Planning Board. <br />The public hearing was adjourned at 11:55 p.m. <br />Levi G.
