1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />Tuesday, Nov.23,1954 <br />Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Jaquith, Ripley - Snow, Stevens. <br />Meeting opened at 7150 o'clock. <br />Ross <br />Letter read from Lexington Board of Health stating that it approved <br />the development in general of Mrs. Eleanor Ross. <br />The Conditional Approval Contract prepared by Mr. Stevens was Sub- <br />mitted to Mrs. Ross who stated she wished to receive advice from Counsel be- <br />fore signing. Since the 45 day period is up on November 25th, the Board agreed- <br />to <br />greedto hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 24th, to approve if she so de- <br />sired. <br />George Smith <br />Mr. George E. Smith of 25 Grant St. appeared for informal discussion <br />ret his plans for building a 3 -car garage and small building on land off <br />Muzzey St. in rear of stores. The Board is interested in these plans since <br />it is part of the land under consideration for a parking area. It was moved <br />by Mr. Ripley, seconded by Mr. Jaquith and unanimously <br />VOTED- that a study be made of a parking plan on land between Wal- <br />tham St. and Muzzey St, with a view to having something <br />definite to present at the next town meeting. <br />Bill <br />Bill presented bjr Local Planning Administration, book, $7.50. Unan- <br />imously voted the bill be paid. <br />Conroy <br />Further discussion on naming of "Vaille Ave". Moved by Mr. Grindle, <br />seconded by Mr. Hathaway, and unanimously <br />VOTED: that the Planning Board's designation of the unaccepted wady <br />between Bedford St. and Reed St. opposite Vaille Ave. by naw of <br />"Vaille Ave.' is approved. <br />aLbu <br />Mr. Mortimer A. Seabury Jr., 12 Louisburg Sq., Boston and Mr. John <br />Groden appeared for informal discussion re: proposed roadside hotel on. Bashian <br />property, land between Marrett Rd., Rt. 128 and Massachusetts Ave. Mr. Seabury <br />wishes to erect a high-class motel of approximately 24 units combined in a <br />2 -story building, attractive in appearance, beautifully landscaped, with park- <br />ing in rear which would not be visible from streets. This would be beneficial <br />to town from tax standpoint and would not be an expense as far as school child- <br />ren are concerned. Would also plan to erect a few high-class houses on re- <br />
