1 <br />1 <br />PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br />Monday, July 26, 1954 <br />Present: Adams, Grindle, Hathaway, Irwin, Jaquith. <br />Meeting opened at 7:115 o'clock. <br />Gym <br />• Bill presented by Adams Press, advertising hearings, Dianne, Colonial, <br />Leeland, 0 $3.75 - $11.25. Unanimously voted the bill be paid, Mr. Adams not <br />voting. <br />Belly <br />Form A presented by Agnes T. Kelley, 16 Appleton Road, Arlington for <br />southerly corner Maple and Lowell sts. and northerly corner of Lowell and <br />Woburn sts., formerly part of Munroe Estate. Moved by Mr. Grindle, seconded <br />by Mr. Irwin and so voted that plan be endorsed "Approval of Lexington Plan- <br />ning Board not required undersubdivision control law." <br />HEARING - DIANNE ESTATES <br />Public hearing held on petition of Dianne Estates, Inc. relative to <br />the application for approval as a subdivision as follows: Ledgelawn ave. <br />from Revere at. in a northwesterly direction for a distance -of 650 ft. lir. <br />Friel present as petitioner, and about 25 citizens. Mr. Friel stated he• <br />planned to gravel and tar top Ledgelawn ave* ready for completion at any <br />time - that is, the connectionbetweenthe two parts of finished street. -Mr. <br />Coles of 47 Ledgelawn ave, stated that those present were here to object to <br />the connection because of creating a traffic hazard. There are many -small <br />children in the neighborhood who play around the street and it is feared cars <br />would speed through if a good road were provided. In the discussion which <br />followed this seemed to be the opinion of those present. A question on drain- <br />age was satisfactorily answered, and there were no objections to the develop - <br />went as such. Those who wished to be recorded as opposed only to the fin- <br />ished connecting road were: <br />Claude Coles, 117 Ledgelawn P. INC. <br />Public hearing was held on petition of Leeland Construction Co., Inc. <br />relative to the application for approval as a subdivision the property of. <br />Leeland Construction Co., Inc. as follows: Diana Lane extending southeasterly <br />for a distance of approximately 1100 feet. Mr. McConchie present -for peti- <br />tioner, and six citizens also present. Mr. Childerhose of 8 Diana Lane wished <br />to know the Planning Board1s stand as to additional development beycnd.the <br />proposed area. Mr. Adams replied that so far as the Board understood the <br />Town could not stop a developer if he met the requirements. However, the re- <br />quirements are such that it would be very difficult to go further at present. <br />Mr. McConchie stated he definitely had no plans for further development at <br />
