493 <br />Mr, Smith .reported that he spent all day Saturday after the hurricane HURRICANE <br />making businesses throw out defrosted foods/refrigeratedfoods that had not GLORIA <br />been refrigerated because of loss of electricity. <br />Among otter places, he went to Stop 8Shqp, Friendly's, Gourmet Farms, <br />Brigham's, the pharmacies, Denny's, etc. All ,retail display cases - all ice <br />cream had to be thrown out. <br />The rubbish companies were two days behind in the collection so the <br />toil had two dumpsters put behind the town bark and anyone could bring up <br />their defrosted/Unrefrigerated foods and throw them away there. <br />The Selectmen reviewed the plans for a hazardous waste collection day. <br />Town Meeting had allotted a total of $3500.00 for it but the total cost will HAZARDOUS <br />be more like $7000.00. The Selectmen agreed to pay the total bill of $7000. WASTE <br />COLLECTION <br />The Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be on October 19, 1985 at DAY <br />the -"Public Works Barn on Bedford street and the company contracted with <br />this year is Clean Harbors to take the hazardous waste away at the end <br />of the day. <br />The town has pollution insurance in case something is spilled or if <br />there is an accident. <br />The influenza vaccine clinic will be held on Thursday, October 19, INFLUENZA <br />1985. Announcements have been sent to temples, churches, C.O.A, schools, CLINIC <br />police, fire and the newspaper. <br />If there is someone disabled that connot get into the hall, a nurse <br />will go out to their car. <br />Mr. Smith explained that we only have a limited supply of vaccine given <br />to us by the state. <br />Mediplex Nursing Home did not want vaccine last year so we did not get <br />any for them this year. Now this year they requested two hundred doses of <br />vaccine. We did not have any to, give them. <br />We will not be able to run any make-up clinics this year, either. <br />SANITARIAN <br />The Ad for a Sanitarian is in the local papers and is going to go into AD <br />the Boston Globe this coming Sunday. <br />Mr. Smith hears that Collaborative Research is running on a deficit rDNA <br />at this time and he thinks they may go back to Waltham. <br />The Town Manager wants interviews for applicants for the LBC and IBC APPLICANTS <br />Committees to get set up for next week. LBC - IBC <br />Dr. Iclal Hartmann is interested in serving on a committee and so is a <br />gentleman named Christopher Anderson. Dan Fenn is also interested in joining <br />this committee. <br />Mr. James W. Lambie, and Dr. Howard B. Asarkof, members of the Board of <br />Health are available for the interviews. Dr. Donald Goldmann said anyone that <br />the Board seems interested in that he would be glad to have them over to his <br />house any evening for interviews. <br />
