If this land is sold we should revoke the Board of Health permit allowing fill <br />to be brought in there. <br />Mr. Smith said a letter will be sent inviting Mrs. Cotaldo into the next <br />Board Meeting. Mr. Cataldo passed away during the last year. <br />42 <br />Mr. Smith had a draft of a letter written by Town Counsel, Norman Cohen, DRAFT <br />to the Raytheon Company in regard to the"non-smoking" by-law that the Raytheon LETTER <br />Company refuses to enforce. TO <br />RAYTHEON <br />The Board read it over and told Mr. Smith to have Mr. Cohen send it to <br />the Raytheon Company. <br />Mr. Smith reported that the Health Fair that was held May 6, 1984 was <br />fairly successful. The "foot screening" really went over well. <br />The breast screening for lumps screened 38 women and 9 were likely <br />suspects. <br />The fair had to be extended for 11 hours to accomodate people - so all in <br />all, it was successful. <br />HEALTH <br />FAIR <br />Dr. Goldmann suggested that next year they should add a "melonoma" screening <br />to the health fair. <br />The Board thought that was a good idea. <br />Dr. Chabot's Assistant Veterinarian, Shanley Read, decided he did not want <br />to do the rabies clinic this year. <br />Mr. Smith had to call Lexington -Bedford Animal Hospital and ask Dr. Howard <br />Smith if he could use his services this year. Dr. Smith was willing to oblige RABIES <br />us and will send a vet and handler each of the two days that the clinic will CLINIC <br />be run. <br />In regard to Mr. Litant's interest in the increase of breast cancer surveys, <br />his wife's death this past year has had him contacting the Board of Health. <br />EPIDEMIOLOGY <br />The Board has been trying to come up with answers but they feel it is SURVEY <br />too large a problem for them to handle so they have decided to send a letter <br />to the state saying "these are the facts as we know them and this is the man's <br />concern". They will also notify Mr. Litant that they are investigating <br />his claims. <br />Dr. Roemer said there is not much more we can do with this. <br />Mr. Lambie said he will draft a letter for the Board to send to the state. <br />The office is busy with getting the permits ready for the food booths for <br />Discovery Day. The Parents Concerned About EEE will have a booth again DISCOVERY <br />this year. DAY <br />The Committee is moving along with their meetings on RDNA. The meeting notes <br />are being typed each week by the Manager's Office Interns. RDNA <br />ADVISORY <br />Sheldon Krimsky will be coming in to speak this week and Bernice Joyal, COMM. <br />Commissioner of Public Health for the City of Newton, will be coming in two <br />weeks. <br />
