1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />357 <br />Mr. Henley discussed with the Board the different ways to control the mosquitoes <br />and gave suggestions that the Board could think about and discuss with the Select- <br />men. He suggested it would be worthwhile to ask for money for surveillance and <br />water management and adulterciding. <br />The Board feels there should be some kind of mosquito control in Lexington <br />particularly after the two cases in towns nearby. <br />After further discussion, the Board thanked Mr. Henley for coming in and Mr. <br />Henley retired. <br />The Board discussed the "non-smoking" areas in restaurants and cafeterias. They NON <br />have decided to write a letter to those businesses stating that the Board would SMOKING <br />like to make the "non-smoking" areas a voluntary thing and wanted to ask the AREAS <br />owners and managers if they would be willing to establish an area on a voluntary IN <br />basis. They also would like their views on this subject. RESTS. <br />The Board discussed a "possible" full-time position for a sanitarian in the CAFE - <br />Health Department. The Board asked Mr. Smith to make a report of all his duties TERIAS <br />and inspections that are done by his department and write up a report to show the <br />need for an assistant. <br />Mr. Smith agreed to do this for the Chairman. <br />The Board feels they should be knowledgeable of the staffing positions and <br />policies of the Department. <br />At 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Janet Dephoure, applicant for a license for a massage therapist, <br />came before the Board. <br />Mr. Philip Ciampa, applicant for a massage parlor was also to come in at 8:30 p.m. <br />but failed to show up. <br />Mrs. Dephoure discussed her qualifications with the Board and they, in turn, <br />questioned Mrs. Dephoure. <br />After a brief discussion, the Board agreed that a temporary license for six <br />months would be given as a probationary period. The temporary license would <br />restrict the applicant to working in one establishment only and would not allow <br />working in the homes of clients. <br />The following permits were signed by the Board: <br />Food Establishment Permits <br />Carey's Catch <br />46 Mass.
