437 <br />Mr. Heustis explained that some of the Food Establishment <br />owners had requested the Board of Health issue signs for post- <br />ing in their stores stating "No Dogs Allowed". He explained <br />that customers do bring their dogs into the stores and the NO DOGS <br />owners do have a problem explaining that dogs are not allowed ALLOWED <br />in food stores. <br />The Board approved having appropriate signs made and dis- <br />tributed to all Food Establishments. <br />Mr. Heustis reported that he and Mr. Lambie went to a hear- EDISON <br />ing held by the Conservation Committee on an intent of the Bos- HEARING <br />ton Edison Co. to alter certain wet lands in the vicinity of <br />the Sanitary Landfill on Hartwell Ave. The Edison Co. wants to <br />build a sub -station in this area and would be filling in about <br />4 acres of land for a depth of about 6 feet. The Conservation <br />Committee had asked for our recommendation. <br />Mr. Lambie said he wrote a letter to the Conservation Com- <br />mittee after the hearing but he felt that Boston Edison should <br />look for another site because the filling of the area proposed <br />could create a threat of flooding in the area. <br />Mr. Heustis said the Conservation Committee was pleased <br />that the Board had attended this meeting and that they had denied <br />the Boston Edison Co., permission to alter the wetlands. <br />Dr. Cosgrove asked what the status of the pumping station PUMPING <br />was at the present time. STATION <br />Mr. Heustis said the motors on the pumps had burnt out <br />twice during the past wet period but the contractor was responsible <br />for this problem right now. When the repairs are completed it <br />should give the relief needed at the pumping station. The con- <br />tractor is a little behind on the work due to trouble getting <br />parts and etc., but now things should move along weil. <br />The following permits were signed by the Board: <br />Fairlawn Nursing Home <br />Sheraton Lexington Motor Inn <br />Peacock Farm Association <br />Brewster's (New Owner) - <br />Stanley Hill Post #38 (Booth) - <br />Swimming Pool <br />Swimming Pool <br />Food Establishment <br />Food Establishment <br />Dorothy Jones, Clerk <br />BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MEETING <br />MAY 1, 1972 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Health was held May 1, <br />1972 at 7:00 P.M. in the Conference Room G-5 of tho Town Office <br />Building. M -tubers present were: Dr. William Cosgrove, Chairman <br />of the Board, Mr. James Lambie, Dr. Charles Ellicott end Robert <br />C. Heustis. Director of Public Health. <br />
