<br />Selectmen – May 18, 2018 <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />Selectmen’s Meeting <br />May 18, 2018 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was called to order at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, <br />May 18, 2018 in the Selectmen’s Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Ms. Barry, Chair; <br />Mr. Pato; and Mr. Lucente were present as well as Mr. Valente, Town Manager; and Ms. Steele, <br />Municipal Assistant. Ms. Ciccolo and Ms. Hai were absent. <br />Approve Request from AB Inns LLC, d/b/a Inn at Hastings Park to Extend Liquor License Hours <br />on May 19, 2018 <br />Trisha Pérez Kennealy summarized the request from the Inn at Hastings to serve champagne <br />from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 for a special event celebrating the Royal <br />Wedding. <br />Mr. Pato expressed concern that the Selectmen’s Regulations specified that alcohol licenses are <br />not granted for times outside of 11:00 a.m. to midnight with the express exception of New Year’s <br />Eve and did not see how this request could be supported. <br />Mr. Valente suggested that if the Board was inclined to approving this request, that Provision 6 <br />of the Selectmen’s Regulations be waived for this instance. <br />Ms. Barry asked if there would be a limited number of people attending the event to which Ms. <br />Kennealy replied that it would be limited to the capacity of the restaurant. Ms. Barry expressed <br />that she saw it as a one-time occurrence and was allowable. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectmen voted 2-1 to approve in <br />accordance with MGL Chapter 138 Section 12 regarding the hours during which sales of <br />alcoholic beverages may be made by any licensee, the extension of the AB Inns LLC, d/b/a Inn <br />at Hastings Park liquor license hours on May 19, 2018 to include 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.; and <br />further, to issue a waiver under the provisions in the Board of Selectmen Regulations for <br />Alcoholic Beverage License Applicable to Restaurants under Paragraph 2, Section 6 for <br />Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. <br />Adjourn <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Selectman voted 3-0 to adjourn at 9:00 a.m. <br />A true record; Attest: <br />Morgan Steele <br />Municipal Assistant <br /> <br /> <br />
