AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY <br />LEXINGTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING <br />DATE: 3/24/14 STAFF: Lynne Pease ITEM NUMBER: I.3 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointment/Resignation – Registrar of Voters/Minuteman Cane Award Committee <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: <br />Sally Lawlor’s term on the Registrars of Voters expires on March 31, 2014 and she indicated she <br />did not want to be reappointed for another term. I sent letters to the Chairs of the Republican <br />and Democratic Town Committees requesting 3 nominations to fill the vacancy. Attached is an <br />email from Gordon Jones, Co-Chair of the Lexington Democratic Town Committee, which <br />includes 3 nominations. Also attached is an email from Margaret Counts-Klebe withdrawing her <br />nomination. I have not received any nominations from the Republican Town Committee. <br />Sheldon Spector has submitted his resignation from the Minuteman Cane Award Committee. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Motion to appoint ____________________ to the Registrars of Voters for a term to expire <br />March 31, 2017. <br />Motion to accept the resignation of Sheldon Spector from the Minuteman Cane Award <br />Committee, effective immediately. <br />STAFF FOLLOW-UP: <br />Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />
