AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY <br />LEXINGTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING <br />DATE: 2/3/14 STAFF: Lynne Pease ITEM NUMBER: I.6 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Approve Patriots’ Day Events <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: <br />You are being asked to approve the following events for Patriots’ Day: <br />1.Patriots’ Day Events - Approve a request of the Lexington Minute Men for Patriots’ Day <br />Weekend: <br />th <br />a.April 6 – Battle Green – Reenactment rehearsal – 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (rain ate <br />April 12, 2014) <br />th <br />b.April 19 – Battle Green – Parker’s Revenge – 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />st <br />c.April 21 – Battle Green – Reenactment – 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (rain date April <br />26, 2014) <br />th <br />3.Patriots’ Day Events - Approve a request from the Lions Club for the 100 Annual Patriots’ <br />Day 5-mile Road Race on Monday, April 21, 2014 with an awards ceremony on the Battle <br />Green at the end of the race from approximately 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />4.Patriots’ Day Events - Approve the requests of the Town Celebrations Committee for the <br />Patriots’ Day morning parade, ceremonies on the Battle Green and afternoon parade on <br />Monday, April 21, 2014. <br />5.Patriots’ Day Events - Approve the requests of the Lexington Historical Society and <br />Lexington Minute Men for the reenactment of the arrival of Paul Revere and William Dawes <br />on April 20-21, 2014. <br />See attached information. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Motion to approve the Patriots’ Day activities listed above, subject to working out the details <br />with Town Departments. <br />STAFF FOLLOW-UP: <br />Selectmen’s Office <br /> <br />
