Hadley, Director I.1b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Traffic Safety Advisory Committee Recommendation – <br />Stop SignPearl Street West Bound at Bartlett Ave <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: <br />Stop Sign - Concerns of residents and Police in the Bartlett neighborhood over pedestrian and <br />vehicular safety. Traffic exiting The Christian Academy via Pearl Street onto Bartlett Ave has <br />been increasing and causing minor accidents as well as several close calls. <br />Site inspection by Police and Engineering staff support installation of a stop control on Pearl <br />Street at Bartlett Ave. Traffic safety staff members comprised of the Police, Engineering, School <br />Administration and Transportation Service reviewed and support establishing and maintaining <br />this regulatory sign. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Cost of materials including installation of a sign and post and painting the stop line is <br />approximately $280 <br />RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION: <br />Motion to approve the proposed stop control. <br />STAFF FOLLOW-UP: <br />If approved, the DPW Highway Dept will install and maintain the proposed sign. <br />G:\\AGENDAS\\012714 TSAC-PearlStr.doc <br /> <br />
