Community Center Expansion Update
• Melissa thanked the members of the committee who attended the presentation from DtNisco
Design about options at the BOS meeting on Monday night.
• We discussed what was presented at the BOS meeting and what the next steps should be for
our committee in terms of advocacy for the expansion.
• Design documents for the expansion plan for the CC are being considered for the FY19 budget.
The $250,000 for the documents would come from the Enterprise Fund.
• A motion was made for the Committee to draft a letter that would be sent to the Selectmen and
Town Manager to express our support for the expansion plans. It was unanimously approved.
The letter will also be sent to the Recreation Committee.
• Nancy will do an initial draft of the letter and send it along to committee members for
comments.
• We also discussed having a Friends Group for the CC and if we should be looking in other
options for funding to support expansion.
• Melissa reminded the Committee members that terms will be ending in May so members should
be thinking about whether they would like to continue to serve. Since several meetings had to
be cancelled due to a lack of a quorum, at the February meeting, we will discuss the timing for
the meeting and whether the 2nd Thursday is the best time to meet. Christine will send along a
Est of the proposed dates for 2018-19 meetings.
The next meeting of the Community Center Program Advisory Committee will be a joint
meeting with the Recreation Committee, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 28,
2018 at 7:OOpm in Room 237 of the Lexington Community Center.
The January 11, 2018 meeting of the Communitv, Center Program Advisory Committee adjourned at
8:50pin.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Shepard
Chair
