32 <br />Selectmen's Meeting January 15, 1973 <br />Bonds- Acting Chairman Bailey read a request from the Tax Collector to <br />Deputy approve bonds for the Deputy Collectors. <br />Collectors Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve the <br />bonds for Deputy Collectors Paul E. Kelley and John J. Furey in the <br />amount of $2,500. each. <br />Stop Signs <br />Acting Chairman Bailey read a letter from Commissioner Campbell <br />of the State Department of Public Works stating that the Bureau of <br />Traffic Operations is to expedite the issuance of permits for the <br />erection of Stop signs. Every request for a Stop sign sent in by <br />March 1, 1973 will be thoroughly evaluated by the staff and where <br />warranted, permits will be issued by July 1, 1973. After the de- <br />termination has been made that Stop signs are warranted at specific <br />locations, the Department will supply posts and Stop signs to the <br />communities and request that the communities use their own forces <br />to erect these signs at locations indicated on the permits. The <br />traffic counts, accident data and overall traffic evaluation of <br />each intersection collected in the Areawide TOPICS plan will in <br />most cases constitute the basis for Stop signs in those communities <br />participating in the TOPICS program. Please send a letter listing <br />the intersections in need of Stop signs, and the name of the liaison <br />person our task force should get in touch with to implement this <br />program. <br />Mr. Mc Sweeney: We have completed our legal and illegal signs. <br />Mr. Bailey: What abput Hayes Avenue and Meriam Street? <br />Mr. Mc Sweeney: I will check that location. <br />BTPR Acting Chairman Bailey informed the, Board that copies have been <br />Northwest received of the Boston Transportation Planning Review's Northwest <br />Environ. Preliminary Environmental Impact Statement. <br />Impact Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to release a <br />Statement copy to the Lexington Minute -Man newspaper. <br />Executive <br />Session <br />A <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to go into <br />Executive Session for the purpose of discuss.ng, deliberating or <br />voting on matters which if made public Might adversely affect <br />the public security, the financial interests of the Town or the <br />reputation of a person. <br />After discussion of-rnetters of financial interest to the <br />Town, it was voted to go out of Executive Session. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn <br />at 9:55 p.m. <br />A true record, Attest: <br />Executive Clerk, Selectmen <br />
