Page 1 <br />1881 <br /> <br />Warrant for a Town Meeting Monday April 11th 1881 <br /> <br />To Walter Wellington <br />Constable of Lexington <br />Greeting: <br />You are hereby required <br />in the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to notify <br />and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Lexington qualified <br />by law to vote in Town affairs, to assemble at the Town Hall <br />on Monday the eleventh day of April A.D. 1881 at two <br />o'clock P.M., to act on the following articles, viz.: <br /> <br />Art. 1. To choose a Moderator <br /> <br />Art. 2. To fill vancies in Town offices, if any exist. <br /> <br />Art. 3. To see if the Town will accept the list of Jurors as <br />revised by the Selectmen. <br /> <br />Art. 4. To grant money to defray Town expenses in the ensuing year. <br /> <br />Art. 5. To see if the Town will ask the Middlesex Central <br />Railroad to enlarge their culvert over Vine Brook. <br /> <br />Art. 6. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to grant <br />liquor licenses or act in any manner relating thereto; <br /> <br />Art. 7. To see what action the Town will take towards <br />purchasing land to enlarge the new cemetery, or act in any <br />manner relating thereto. <br /> <br />Art. 8. To see if the Townwill appropriate one hundred and <br />fifty dollars for the purpose of improving the Cemetery or act <br />in any manner relating thereto. <br /> <br />Art. 9. To see if the Town will make an appropriation to erect a <br />new flag staff on the Common, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br /> <br />Art. 10. To see if the Town will make and appropriation for the <br />proper observance of Decoration Day. <br /> <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />
