LEXINGTON BOARD OF APPEALS <br />September 13, 1984 <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at <br />7:45 P.M. Notices were placed in the Lexington Minute man, a newspaper of general <br />circulation in the Town, published on Thursdays. Notices appeared in the newspaper <br />on August 30 and September 6 and were sent by mail, postage prepaid to all interested <br />parties, pursuant to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws. <br />Present and acting on scheduled hearings were: Robert M. Gary, Acting Chairman; <br />Anne R. Scigliano; Clarence D. Turner; and Associate Members: Jonathan P. Doran and <br />John J. McWeeney. <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions: <br />7 Patterson Rd., Juan A. Gorospe requested a special permit, pursuant to Zoning By -Law <br />Section 5.7, to install an above ground swimming pool at 7 Patterson Road. <br />67 Grant St., Eileen Collins requested a variance of dimensional controls, Section <br />7.4.1 b, to enclose a deck. <br />55 Massachusetts Ave., Berman's Market, Inc. requested a special permit, pursuant to <br />Zoning By -Law Sections 3.3 and 6.3, to construct a 24' x 5' addition to the front of <br />the store at 55 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />238 Wood St., Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Lincoln Laboratory, <br />requested a special permit, pursuant to Sections 6.3 and 3.3, for the extension and <br />'enlargement of a non -conforming use by the erection of five (5) modular buildings <br />for offices. There would be no increase in employees, parking requirements or traffic. <br />The purpose of this petition is to upgrade the existing use, research and activity <br />presently carried on by petitioner at this location. <br />141 Spring St., Raytheon Co. requested a special permit (SPS) pursuant to Table 1, <br />line 8.15, to construct a gate house (floor area - 165 sq. ft.) to be located 341 <br />feet from the intersection of Spring Street and the existing Raytheon driveway. <br />131 Spring Street, Raytheon Co. requested an amendment to a special permit granted <br />April 24, 1980, to allow expansion of the existing parking lot to accommodate 115 <br />cars (which includes 48 spaces that were previously authorized but were not constructed). <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />7 Patterson Rd. - SP granted, unanimously. <br />67 Grant St. - Variance denied by vote of 4 to 0 (John J. McWeeney abstaining). <br />55 Mass. Ave. - SP granted, unanimously. <br />238 Wood St. - SP granted by vote of 4 to 1 (John J.
