LEXINGTON BOARD OF APPEALS <br />May 12, 1983 <br />The Board held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting ROOM. Present <br />and acting on petitions: Woodruff M. Brodhead, Chairman <br />Natalie H. Riffin (except for first hearing) <br />Robert M. Gary <br />Eric T. Clarke, Associate <br />Laurence K. Redgate, Associate <br />and Jonathan P. Doran (for first hearing only) <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions, beginning at 7:30 p.m. <br />8 Field Rd., Thomas and Maria Ch. B. Schinkel requested a variance of dimensional <br />controls (ZBL Table 2) to build an addition to the front of the house. <br />643 Waltham St., James B. Catalano, d/b/a Whitehouse Gardens, requested a special <br />permit (ZBL Section 3.3) to carry on business as usual, which is the operation of <br />retail business of selling flowers, produce and plants grown on premises (ref. <br />Table 1, lines 3.2 & 3.4) at 643 Waltham St. (RO zone). <br />927 Waltham St., Nicholas A. Cannalonga requested renewal of a special permit (ZBL <br />Section 3.3) to continue operation of a nursery (Table 1, line 3.2) and to store <br />and sell all of the supplementary items specified in Section 5.5. (Wagon Wheel <br />Nursery & Garden Centre), <br />' 6 North Hancock St., Luigi & Frances Staniscia requested a special permit (Sec. <br />3.3) for take out food service (Table 1, line 6.14) at Hancock Market, located in <br />a CN neighborhood business distract (ref. Sec. 9.8 for parking requirements). <br />35 Bedford St., Prescott Associates (Medical Office Condominium) requested a <br />special permit to erect a standing, illuminated sign (ZBL Sections 10.1.4, 10.2.5 <br />& 10.4.4). This is in a CB zone. <br />Property on Hayden Ave. & Spring St. (Cr -office and research park district), <br />Ledgemont Associates, c/o Beal & Co., INc. requested a special permit (ZBL Section <br />3.4 - SPS - site plan review) to develop property on proposed Lot B, part of Lot <br />2A shown on Town property map 18, by constructing a building (approximately <br />.200,000 s.f.) for office purposes (all uses of 4.0 of Table 1 and line 7.2). <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk: <br />8 Field Rd. - Request denied by vote of 3 to 2; Robert M. Gary & Jonathan P. <br />Doran voting in opposition. <br />643 Waltham St. - SP granted unanimously. SP will expire on 5/12/85. <br />927 Waltham St. - SP granted unanimously. SP will expire on 4/24/88. <br />6 No. Hancock St. - SP granted (4 to 1, Gary voting in opposition).
