' BOARD OF APPEALS <br />January 28, 1982 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. <br />A photograph was taken for the 1981 Town Report with the following members present: <br />Woodruff M. Brodhead, Chairman Associates: Eric T. Clarke <br />Natalie H. Riffin, Vice Chairman Jonathan P. Doran <br />Robert M. Gary William C. Hays <br />Irving H. Mabee Ruth Morey <br />Thomas G. Taylor (Photo by Gary Lawton) Clarence D. Turner <br />Absent: Anne R. Scigliano <br />Present and Acting on Petitions: The five regular members listed above. <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions.(4). <br />31 Taft Avenue, Gary G. and Harriett A. Swindon - special permit to maintain the <br />existing dwelling as presently located on the lot at 31 Taft Avenue. <br />7A Meriam St., The Gift Cellar - special permit to hang a projecting sign at 7A <br />Meriam St. (see Giropx Buildinbasement store - 1833-1851 Masa Ave. & <br />Depot Square, h-_29) <br />17 Cottage St., Robert and Cynthia Dorland - variance of zoning by-law dimensional <br />' controls in order to construct an addition to an existing non -conforming house. <br />93 Hancock St., Lexington Gardens, Inc., Frederick W. Hess, Retail Manager - <br />renewal of the special permit, for 2 years, all -owing the garden center at 93 Hancock <br />St. to store and sell the supplementary items listed under ZBL Section 5.5, para- <br />graph 1 and to amend the permit to include the three (3) Sundays before Christmas <br />from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also requested: A variance to allow firewood to be included <br />in the list of supplementary items for sale. <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />31 Taft Ave. - SP granted unanimously. <br />7A Meriam St. (in the Giroux building) - SP for sign granted unanimously. <br />17 Cottage St.- Variance granted unanimously. <br />93 Hancock St. - SP for sale of supplementary items at nursery through 2/12/84 <br />granted unanimously. <br />- Variance to sell firewood denied unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:56 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Evelyn F.
