' BOARD OF APPEALS <br />December 17, 1981 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. <br />Present: Woodruff M. Brodhead, Chairman <br />Robert M. Gary <br />Irving H. Mabee <br />Thomas G. Taylor <br />Eric T. Clarke, Associate <br />A public hearing was held on the following: <br />1644 Massachusetts Avenue, LaTienda Sister City Store, Inc., D/B/A LaTienda <br />Mexican Shop - special permit for a projecting sign. <br />Decision filed with the Town Clerk. <br />Special Permit granted unanimously for the projecting sign. <br />Other business <br />Lexington Town Employees Federal Credit Union, by Attorney Paul H. Deragon, <br />requested a variance from Section 5, Use Regulations, Table 1, to use the building <br />' identified as Unit #12, 1009-1049 Massachusetts Avenue to conduct the business of <br />this federally charted credit union on Wednesdays and Fridays only, between 10:00 <br />a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The hearing was scheduled for December 17, 1981 in the Town <br />Office Building at 7:40 p.m. <br />The petition, plans, etc. were distributed to Town boards, departments and <br />officials: Building Commissioner, Conservation, Engineering, Health, Planning <br />Board and Selectmen. Strong recommendations were forthcoming in the nature of <br />statements such as "This is a use variance and the Board cannot entertain same." <br />The Building Commissioner said, "No comment at this time." Planning Diredtor <br />wrote, "This may be a use variance; comment to follow. RAB" <br />Paul H. Deragon wrote, "Now comes the applicant in the above entitled <br />application for variance and withdraws his application filed with the Board on <br />November 24, 1981." <br />Action: The Board voted to allow the petition to be withdrawn without <br />prejudice. The vote was unanimous. <br />Adjourned 9:52 p.m. <br />' P.S. After the meeting was adjourned <br />the Board discussed the sign regulations, <br />Eric T. Clarke having brought the matter <br />before the Board.
