BOARD OF APPEALS <br />January 22, 1981 <br />7:30 p.m. <br />The Board of Appeals held a regular meeting in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. <br />Present: Ruth Morey, Chairman <br />Woodruff M. Brodhead <br />Natalie H. Riffin <br />Clarence D. Turner, Associate <br />Robert M. Gary, Associate <br />Public hearings were held on the following petitions. <br />1640 Mass. Ave., Paul E. Hirtle - special permit for a projecting sign for Photo <br />CraftA leasing space at 1640 Mass. Ave.). (see 1644 also) <br />1644 Mass. Ave., Janice A. Brink - special permit for a projecting sign for Unicorn <br />Books (leasing space in the building at 1640-1644 Mass. Ave., same building as Photo <br />Craft) . <br />1715 Mass. Ave., Daman Enterprises, Inc. - special permit to expand restaurant <br />(Bel Canto). <br />51 Woburn St., Johanna and Helen Barrett - special permit so'that Dorothy Girouard <br />may operate the Glass Slipper, a retail store selling clothing and used articles on <br />consignment in the store which was occupied as a bicycle shop from 1961 to 1979, <br />and prior thereto as a grocery or convenience store for many years. <br />72 Lowell St., Haskell W. Reed - variance from frontage requirements for a proposed <br />Lot C, which is part of Lot B-3 on Assessors' Map 28 and also shown on plan of land <br />in Lexington, 12/8/80, Everett M. Brooks Co., C.E. Lot C would have an area of <br />18,512 sq. ft. and frontage of 117.69 ft. <br />Morrow Crossing Development, Mark Moore, Jr. - variances to allow the distances <br />between certain garages and buildings to be less than required. <br />Decisions filed with the Town Clerk. <br />1640 Mass. Ave. - SP granted unanimously. <br />1644 Mass. Ave. - SP granted unanimously. <br />1715 Mass. Ave. - SP granted unanimously. <br />51 Woburn St. - SP denied unanimously. <br />72 Lowell St. - V denied (in favor: Brodhead & Gary; in opposition: Riffin & <br />Turner; abstained: Ruth Morey) <br />Morrow Crossing (land off East St.) - Variances granted on 4 to 1 vote (Gary voting <br />in the negative). <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:57 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Evelyn F.
