BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />November 18, 1969 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on Tuesday, <br />November 18, 1969, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. <br />Present were Chairman Nickerson, regular members Sheldon, Abbott, Wadsworth and <br />Dawes. <br />The following petitions were heard: <br />Friendly Ice Cream Corp. - special permit to erect and maintain a free standing <br />double -face sign 6'8" x 8'8", 16'8" high with internal illumination, to be located <br />at 66 Bedford ST. <br />James D. Mortensen - variance to construct an exterior exit and fire escape <br />from second floor to ground floor on the right hand side of the house located at <br />80 Bow St. <br />Mildred E. Whitney - special permit approving as a permitted use, in accordance <br />with the Zoning By -Law, the use of a portion of her residence located at 1415 Mass- <br />achusetts Ave. in a one family dwelling zone as an office for the operation of a <br />professional business incidental to her residence. <br />' John P. Carroll - permission to remove abandoned and terminal use cars and <br />store overnight on a'portion of the Lawrence M. Carroll property at 31 Allen St. <br />J. E. Presteiohn - finding and determination that the proposed motel at 444 <br />Bedford st. will constitute a suitable development and will not result in detriment <br />to the area and also a variance in Art. IX and Art. XI and any other articles to <br />permit a building of fire proof construction with exterior of partial wood panels. <br />Liberty Mutual Insurance Company - special permit to erect and maintain a <br />commercial standing sign to be located at 173 Bedford St. <br />The John P. Carroll petition was withdrawn. <br />Following the hearings an executive session was held during which the following <br />decisions were made: <br />Friendly Ice Cream Corp. - denied. <br />James D. Mortensen - granted. <br />Mildred E. Whitney - denied. <br />John P. Carroll - withdrawn. <br />J. E. Prestejohn - granted. <br />Liberty Mutual Insurance - granted. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br />R. Dean Johnson <br />Clerk <br />
