BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />May 7, 1968 <br />' A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on <br />Tuesday, ay 7, 1968 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. <br />Present wre Chairman Nickerson, members Dawes, Sheldon and Wadsworth, <br />and assoc ate Morey; also the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. The hearings <br />were openid at 7:30 p.m. as follows: <br />The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston - for permission to re- <br />move condition #2 from the Board of Appeals Permit issued on February 28, <br />1966 which states that the existing house at 1993 Massachusetts Ave. <br />shall be removed as soon as rights under the life tenancy expire, in <br />order to comply with the request of the Historic Districts Commission <br />that the house be allowed to remain. <br />Earl Kim - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order to main- <br />tain existing residence at 27 York St. which has insufficient front set- <br />back, and to build an addition which would also have insufficient front <br />setback. <br />Boerner Lexington Corp. - (1) for variance to use as part of the <br />required parking area for 394 Lowell St., in a C 1 local business dis- <br />trict, parcel A-1 which is located in the rear thereof in an R 1 resi- <br />dential district and as shown on plan filed therewith. (2) for a deter- <br />mination that complete development of the required parking area for 394 <br />Lowell St. is not currently necessary and for a special permit to limit <br />development for present actual parking use to an area for 40 cars sub- <br />stantially as shown on parking plan filed herewith. <br />Boerner Lexington Corp. - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law <br />in order to add a second floor to the existing business building <br />numbered 394 Lowell St. in a C 1 local business district and to use the <br />building for business offices rather than for its former use as a retail <br />store and other business uses. <br />Shell Oil Co. - for a variance of the Lexington Zoning By -Law to <br />permit it to reconstruct its retail automobile service station situated <br />at the northwesterly corner of Massachusetts Ave. and Maple St. in an R 1 <br />one -family dwelling district and numbered 1095 Massachusetts Ave.; the <br />service station building now existing on the parcel is to be demolished <br />and the new service station building and structures are to be located sub- <br />stantially as shown on plot plan submitted. <br />Kingston Homes,_ Inc. - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order <br />to divide one lot at Maple St. and Ingleside Dr. containing 31,782 sq.ft. <br />into two lots, one of which would contain 15,544 and the other 16,238 <br />sq.ft. instead of the 30,000 sq.ft. each as required, and both of which <br />would have insufficient frontage. <br />At the close of the hearings an executive session was held during <br />which the above requests were discussed, and the following decisions <br />reached: <br />
