1 <br />1 <br />BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />December 19, 1967 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of -Appeals was held on Tuesday, <br />December 19, 1967 in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building. Present <br />were Chairman Nickerson and regular members Abbott, Dawes, Sheldon and <br />Wadsworth, and the secretary, Mrs. Macomber. At 7:30 p.m. the hearings <br />were called to order as follows: <br />Edwin_ J. Breslin - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law in order <br />to construct a walk-in refrigerator,, approximately 10 ft. x 13 ft., to <br />be attached to existing building at 2219 Massachusetts Avenue, which is <br />presently being used for a non -conforming use. <br />Arthur F. Douglass - for a Finding and Determination for approval <br />to erect a Funeral Home in C 4 District on Worthen Rd. (between First <br />National Store and Grace Chapel). Also for approval for four platforms <br />outside exterior doors, and two bay windows; also narrow band of wood <br />trim on side elevations which would extend outside line of building. <br />Hartwell—Westview Trust - for a Finding and Determination that a <br />proposed 80,000 sq.ft. building, located on a 14.033 acre lot, located <br />on the northwesterly side of Hartwell Avenue, between Hartwell Avenue <br />and Westview Street, bounded on the northeast by a 4.18 acre parcel of <br />land belonging to Amicon Corporation, bounded on the southeast by the <br />Boston & Maine Railroad, all as shown on plan submitted, will constitute <br />a suitable development, and will not result in substantial detriment to <br />the neighborhood. <br />Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New England - with respect to the <br />construction of a proposed 80,000 sq.ft. Type II building of noncombust- <br />ible, unprotected materials, fully sprinklered, on a 14.033 acre lot, <br />which is located on the northwesterly side of Hartwell Ave. as shown on <br />plot plan submitted, and which the owners have contracted to sell to <br />petitioner, to grant the following variances of the Building By -Law: <br />a) to permit the construction of such building with an allowable area <br />limitation of 40,000 sq.ft. in one or more areas between fire walls <br />therein, and b) to permit construction of such building (or such portion <br />or portions thereof as may be determined to be a garage or garages) ex- <br />clusively in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Dept. of <br />Public Safety of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts insofar as the said <br />rules and regulations apply to the construction of garages. <br />Robert 0. Tillinghast - to vary the Lexington Zoning By -Law under <br />Sec.5(b)1, in order to permit a four family unit in remodeled barn in <br />rear of 465 Massachusetts Avenue. <br />Following the hearings an executive session was held during which <br />the following decisions were made: <br />Edwin J. Breslin - granted <br />Arthur F. Douglass - granted <br />Hartwell -Westview Trust - denied <br />Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of N.E. - denied <br />Robert 0. Tillinghast - ednied <br />
