BOARD OF APPEALS HEARINGS <br />I <br />May 18, 1965 <br />A regular meeting of the Lexington Board of Appeals was held on <br />Tuesday, May 18, 1965, in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, <br />Lexington. Present were Chairman Nickerson, members Hoyt, Abbott, <br />Ripley and Wadsworth, and the clerk, Mrs. Macomber. <br />At 7:30 p.m. the following hearings were heard: <br />7111iam Silvio - request to vary the zoning by-law in order to <br />erect a house on Lot 855 17 Hibbert St., which would have a 20 ft. <br />setback instead of the required 30 ft. and 7 ft. side yard instead of <br />the required 7-1/2 ft. <br />James Casella - request to vary the zoning by-law in order to <br />erect a one -car garage at 291 Concord Ave. which would have an 8 ft. <br />side yard instead of the required 15 ft. <br />Harold Michelson - request for permission to erect a sign on <br />the easterly side of e building owned by 11 & L Realty, 1780 Mass. Ave. <br />leased by P:ichelson's Shoes, abutting the pedestrian walk to the munici- <br />pal parking area. <br />Arts & Crafts Society - for permission to build an addition to <br />the existing structure at 0 Waltham St. for permissible use under the <br />zoning ordinance for a clubhouse. <br />Stop & Shop, Inc. - request for permission to conduct a general <br />dry cleaning and laundry service on the premises, with the right to in- <br />stall and use coin-operated laundry and dry cleaning machines, pressing <br />machines, gas-fired tumblers, compressors, high- and low-pressure boil- <br />ers, and other laundry and dry cleaning equipment and machinery at 32 <br />Bedford St. <br />Ruth H. Ready - request to vary the zoning by-law in order to <br />allow two lots on Jean Rd. of insufficient frontage and area to be built <br />upon, lot 18A having a frontage of 105 ft. and area of 9,130 sq.ft., and. <br />lot 19A having a frontage of 105 ft. and an area of 9,080 sq.ft. <br />At the close of the hearings an Executive Session was held during <br />which the following decisions were reached: <br />Vyilliam Silvio - granted <br />James Casella - denied <br />Harold Michelson - granted with the condition that the sign shall <br />not be lighted later than 11:00 p.m. <br />Stop & Shop, Inc. - granted with the following conditions: 1. <br />there shall be no fumes and no odor in connection with the operation and <br />only non-flammable materials shall be used; 2) the hours of operation <br />shall be six days a week 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sundays excluded; 3} <br />non -flashing lights shall be used; 4) the premises shall not be unduly <br />lighted after cessation of operations. <br />
