Particularly in <br />the organic field and more particularly in the field <br />of synthetic rubber, plastics, et cetera. <br />Mr. Locker Are there some conditions that <br />particularly render this building adaptable to your <br />research work. <br />Mr. Lunn; We would not ordinarily build a build- <br />ing without windows. Most people who work in labor- <br />atories, as well as in factories, like to be -able to <br />look out. The fact that it is air- conditioned and <br />readily adaptable because of its size and ceiling <br />heights would be adaptable for organic laboratory work. <br />Mr. Locker What hours would the building be used. <br />Mr. Lunn In Cambridge, from 8:30 to 5,30. <br />Mr. Locke: game hours in Lexington <br />Mr. Lunn: That is correct. <br />Mr. Locke; Would there be occasions when you might <br />operate overtime. <br />Mr. Lunn: There might well be. <br />Mr. Locke; How many people would be employed <br />Mr. Lunn; I would estimate about forty. <br />Mr. Locke; Someone from Dewey & Almy, an executive, <br />should have to be in charge. <br />Mr. Lunn: That is right. <br />Mr. Locke: What is there in the way of noise pro- <br />ducing equipment. <br />Mr. Lunn: I doubt if anyone in the neighborhood <br />would know that the work was going on. None that would <br />make noise outside the building. <br />Mr. Locke; Would there be materials to and from the <br />building. <br />Mr. Lunn: Very small. We would have drums of materials <br />and sample materials going out in drums. I would say <br />that the volume would be very small.
