• BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING March 27, 1942 A special meeting of the Board of Appeals was held in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building, at 8:00 P. M. to discuss the petition of Paul Costa for permission to alter the dwelling located at 1099 Mass. Ave., Lex- ington, so as to accommodate four families. Chairman Glynn and Messrs. Kimball, Bowker, Brown, and Locke were present. The Secretary was also present. The Chairman said that it was in order for the Board to organize. Upon motion of Mr. Kimball, seconded by Mr. Locke, it was unanimously voted to elect Mr. C. Edward Glynn as Chairman for the ensuing year. The election of a Clerk was then discussed. Upon motion of Mr. Locke, seconded by Mr. Kimball, it was unan- imously voted that Eleanor M. Lowe be appointed Clerk of the Board of Appeals until further notice. 1he records of the meetingheld on March 13th were declared approved. The Board then discussed the Costa petition. In considering this application, the Board felt that it was not empowered to give any decision regarding the use of the premises as a two family house, and that a new appli- cation for a hearing should be made if the owner wished to alter it for such use. Upon motion of Mr. Bowker, seconded by Mr. Locke, it was unanimously voted that the Costa petition be denied, in the following form: The Board of Appeals, acting under General Laws, Chapter 40, Sec. 27, having received a written petition addressed to it by Paul Costa, a copy of which is hereto annexed, held a public hearing thereon of which notice was mailed to the petitioner and to the owners of all property deemed by the Board to beaffected thereby as they appear on the most recent local tax list, and also advertised in the Lexington Minute -Man, a newspaper published in Lex- ington, which hearing was held in the Selectmen's Room, in the Town Office Building on March 13, 1942.
