119 <br />Mrs. Palmer stated that she wished to have a spinning <br />wheel in front of the house or a small sign on a tree, but <br />thought a spinning wheel would be better. <br />Mr. McIntosh asked the Chairman if there would be any <br />objection to putting chairs outside. The Chairman <br />advised him that that was just what the Board had always <br />objected to, that the Board thought it too much of a <br />business in a residential district. He stated that the <br />Board would object to a miscellaneous display of articles. <br />He also advised Mrs. Palmer that she would have to make an <br />application for a hearing every year. <br />The Chairman then advised Mrs. Palmer that she would <br />be given a decision as soon as it was possible to arrange <br />a meeting of the full Board. <br />No one appeared in opposition. <br />The records of the last meeting of the Board were <br />approved. <br />No one appeared in opposition. <br />The Chairman instructed the Secretary to write <br />Mr. Charles T. Johnson and Mr. Floyd A. Bradstreet, who <br />wrote in opposition to the petition of Roy C. Peterson to <br />operate a roadside stand on the new Concord turnpike, and <br />advise thein that the decision on the petition had been <br />postponed pending Legislative action. <br />At 9:00 P.M. hearing was declared open on the <br />application of James R. Smith for permission to maintain <br />the existing sign at the corner of Blass. Ave. and Tower <br />Street. Mr. Smith did not apy)ear. Inasmuch as no one <br />appeared in favor or in opposition of the petition, no <br />action was taken. <br />At 8:30 P.M. hearing was declared open on the <br />application of the Lexington Estates Trust for permission <br />to maintain a real estate office on Winthrop Road. <br />The notice of the hearing as printed in the Lex- <br />ington MinuteMan was read by the Clerk. <br />Mr. Philip D. Clarke appeared before the Board, and <br />stated that it was desired to maintain the present real <br />estate office for a two year period, if possible.
