2002 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br /> March 25, 2002 <br /> (See Warrant File for Warrant) <br /> The first session of the 2002 Annual Town Meeting was called to order by Moderator <br /> Margery M. Battin, at 8:00 p.m., at the National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road. A <br /> quorum of 178 members was present. <br /> The invocation was offered by Reverend Susan Morrison, United Methodist Church. <br /> The Moderator honored deceased Town Meeting members Ronald Colwell, Marjorie <br /> Madoff, Diran Semonian and William Spencer Sullivan for their dedicated service to the <br /> Town of Lexington. <br /> Town Clerk Donna M. Hooper read the Warrant for the Meeting until waived. The Town <br /> Clerk read the Constable's Return of the Warrant. <br /> 8:10 P.M. The Moderator reviewed procedural matters and explained anticipated <br /> Article order and reports to be made to the meeting. <br /> 8:10 P.M. Shirley Stolz, pr.8, moved the Report of the Capital Expenditures <br /> Committee be ACCEPTED and PLACED on FILE. Following a unanimous voice vote <br /> the Moderator DECLARED the Report accepted and placed on file. Ms. Stolz provided a <br /> brief summary of the report. Charles Hornig presented a brief statement on budgetary <br /> and tax impacts for the Capital Expenditures Committee. <br /> 8:20 p.m. Paul Hamburger, pr.5, moved the Report of the Appropriation Committee <br /> be ACCEPTED and PLACED on FILE. Following a unanimous voice vote the <br /> Moderator DECLARED the Report accepted and placed on file. Mr. Hamburger <br /> summarized Special Town Meeting issues and articles. <br /> 8:30 p.m. Selectman Jeanne Krieger moved the Annual Town Meeting be recessed <br /> until the Special Town Meeting is either recessed or dissolved. <br /> 8:31 p.m. Following a unanimous voice vote the Moderator DECLARED the motion <br /> adopted and the Annual Town Meeting recessed. <br /> A true copy: <br /> Donna M. Battin at 8:32 <br /> p.m. at the National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road. A quorum of 178 Town <br /> Meeting Members was present. <br /> 8:32 p.m. Town Clerk, Donna M. Hooper, read the warrant for the meeting until <br /> further reading was waived. The Town Clerk moved waiving reading of <br /> the Constable's Return of the Warrant as it was the same as the return for <br /> the Annual Town Meeting Warrant read earlier in the evening. <br /> 8:33 p.m. The Moderator announced the procedures for the conduct of the meeting. <br /> Precinct Clerks were appointed as tellers and Eric Michelson (pr. 1), <br /> Appropriation Committee, as teller for the at -large members and members <br /> serving on Boards and Committees. <br /> 8:33 p.m. The Moderator declared that Article 1 was now before the meeting. <br />
