<br />Town of Lexington <br />Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) <br />Draft Minutes of Meeting January 18, 2017 <br />A meeting of the EDAC was held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. in the Parker Room of <br />the Town Office Building at 1625 Mass Ave. <br />Members Present: George Burnell, Rick DeAngelis, , Kevin McGuire, John McWeeney, David <br />Pronchick, Larry Smith, Sig Tullmann <br />Staff Present: Melisa Tintocalis, Megan Zammuto <br />Liasons Present: Charles Hornig, Joe Pato <br />Members Absent: Narain Bhatia, Tom Dusel, Lelani Foster, Bob Richards <br />MIT Innovation Discussion <br />David Pronchick discussed the strategic plan for modernizing Lincoln Laboratory including interior <br />renovations, solar panels, and two new buildings with construction to start in 2019 and 2021. The <br />committee discussed possible implications of the changing administration. <br />Large Scale Commercial Updates <br />Rick DeAngelis discussed updates with Boston Properties. 191 Spring Street was purchased form Xerox <br />and leased to Stride Right. Stride Right moved to Waltham and now the building is being improved <br />without increasing the footprint. Updates include new façade, landscaping, and augmented parking. Rick <br />mentioned that Boston Properties would prefer to completely renovate the building, but they are restricted <br />due to FAR restrictions. <br />Melisa discussed the Cresset Group’s plan for 475 Bedford Street. The group presented a concept plan <br />with mixed use residential office and commercial. The committee discussed ideal uses for that site. <br />The committee discussed hosting a forum for stimulate thoughts about merging sites to increase <br />development. <br />A motion was made to establish a forum with property owners to discuss the future of development and <br />redevelopment along the Hartwell Corridor. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously. <br />Minutes <br />st <br />A motion was made to approve the minutes from the December 21 EDAC. One correction was to change <br />“guests” to “liaisons.” The edit was made and the motion was seconded and approved unanimously. <br />Small Business & Visitor-based economy update: <br />th <br />The Selectmen will hear the presentation of the Streetscape and make a decision at the January 30 <br />nd <br />meeting.
