1 3 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> f - <br /> November 7, 1958 <br /> The seventh meeting of the 1958-59 Town <br /> Celebrations Committee was held in the Selectmen ' s <br /> Room of the Town Office Building at 8 00 p.m on <br /> November 7, 1958 Present Messrs Gustin, Rooney, <br /> Hutchins Cobb, Cole; Mesdames Litchfield, Pullen <br /> and Williams <br /> Mr Donald Cobb, a new member of the Town <br /> Celebrations Committee was welcomed to the meeting <br /> Mr Gustin explained some of the duties of the Com- <br /> mittee to him <br /> Mr Gustin read a letter from the Board of <br /> Selectmen asking that the Town Celebrations Committee <br /> submit its budget for 1959 <br /> Mr Gustin passed out lists of expenditures <br /> for 1958 The Committee went over the list item by BUDGET <br /> item and noticed that the amount of money which had <br /> been sent to Norwich. University seemed unusually low <br /> Mrs Litchfield offered to look up the past corres- <br /> pondence with Norwich. University and to write to them <br /> if we have failed to send the proper amount Other <br /> band expenses were reviewed The budget for 1958 will <br /> not be complete until figures are in for expenses for <br /> the United Nations trip, Thanksgiving observance and <br /> Norwich University <br /> Mr Cole reported that Thanksgiving plans are <br /> complete except for the speaker Dr Hunt is unable THANKSGIVING <br /> to be the speaker this year but hopes to be asked an- <br /> other time Mr Cole expected to see Dr Sachar of <br /> Branaeis, soon <br /> The High. School auditorium has been reserved <br /> for the Thanksgiving program, the custodian has been <br /> engaged, and the Lexington High School A Cappella Choir <br /> will furnish music Mrs Margaret Sandberger is the <br /> Director, and Peter Clarke, a senior in the high. school, <br /> will be the organist <br /> 1959 school holidays will be April 17th to April <br /> 27th <br /> 1 <br /> Georgia Williams <br /> Recording Secretary <br />
