165 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> October 2, 1958 <br /> The third meeting of the 1958-59 Town <br /> Celebrations Committee was held in the Selectmen' s <br /> Room of the Town Office Building at 8 00 p m , <br /> October 2, 1958 Present were Messrs Gustin, <br /> Rooney; Mesdames Pullen, Litchfield and Williams <br /> Mr Gustin read a letter from Margaret (Mrs <br /> J M ) Biggs, Chairman of the Theater Guild of Lex- THEATRE <br /> ington Arts and Crafts Society, expressing the hope GUILD <br /> that the Theater Guild might be given the opportu- <br /> nity to present a comedy on April. 18th or early the <br /> evening of April 19th The "First American Comedy" <br /> was mentioned as a possible performance The Com- <br /> mittee was interested in the idea and members of the <br /> Theater Guild will be invited to the next meeting of <br /> the Celebrations Committee to discuss the possibility <br /> of sucha performance <br /> Mr Gustin read a letter from a Brookline High. <br /> School student asking that their band be asked to <br /> participate in the 1959 April 19th. parade <br /> Mrs Williams reported that Miss Morrison, <br /> Principal of Adams School, has chosen a maple tree to TREE <br /> be planted at the United Nations tree-planting cere- PLANTING <br /> mony at Adams School on Friday, October twenty-fourth, <br /> at 11 00 Mrs Williams will inquire of Miss Morrison <br /> whether or not she would like to have a Selectman, <br /> member of the School Committee, or a member of the <br /> Celebrations Committee to speak <br /> Mrs Pullen reported that three people have <br /> assepted—as—j-udg-e-s—f-o-r—the—high—sehoo-SUN.
