1 .55 <br /> r- TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> May 8, 1958 <br /> The 31st meeting of the Town Celebrations Com- <br /> mittee was held in the Conference Room of Cary Mem- <br /> orial Hall on May 8, 1958 Present were Messrs <br /> Gustin, Rooney, Poehler, Cole, Lewis, Hutchins, and <br /> Mesdames Litchfield, Pullen and Williams <br /> All bills which have been received by the <br /> Committee thus far were reviewed It was moved and BILLS <br /> seconded that all the bills discussed be paid Mr <br /> Lewis moved that the power to approve all bills be <br /> left to the Chairman It was voted Mr Lewis then <br /> read two letters One letter was from the Selectmen <br /> reappointing Mr Lewis to a three-year term Mr Lewis <br /> then read a letter of declination from himself to the <br /> Board of Selectmen The Committee accepted his <br /> letter with regret Mr. Poehler moved that the word <br /> "regret" be changed to "understanding" It was voted <br /> Mr Gustin expressed his feeling that future <br /> vacancies on the Committee should be filled by people <br /> who will represent various important organizations of <br /> the town so that there will be a better liaison between <br /> the organizations and the Celebrations Committee <br /> Mrs . Litchfield has sent thank-you notes to <br /> Police Chief Rycroft; Mrs Muse, the caterer; Mr THANK-YOU <br /> Seabury, Manager of the Lexington Inn Other thank- NOTES <br /> you notes will be sent to Boy Scouts, C Y 0 , Min- <br /> ute Men, Lions, American Legion, Kiwanis, Lexington <br /> 4-H, DeMolay, Rainbow Girls, Girl Scouts, Student <br /> Council, Pran-Manaders, Spirit of '76, Mr. Gayer of <br /> the Park Dept , Mr Bates of United Farmers, Board of <br /> Selectmen, Mr Donald Gillespie for—the aenior high <br /> School Band, Mr George White for the Junior High <br /> School Band, V F W , Execu-phone System, Inc , Min- <br /> ute Man newspaper, all float entrants, Mr George <br /> Rowe and Mr Bob Jackson of Rowe-Jackson Chevrolet <br /> for cars, Mr William Dunn of Dunn Ford Co , 709 <br /> Mass . Ave for six cars, Mr Bud Viano of Colonial <br /> Garage for one car, A J Rochette, and to the Federal <br /> services <br /> Mr Hutchins suggested that at the beginning <br /> of 1959 that we send a request to the Army and Navy <br /> asking that they participate on April 19th. <br /> Mr Lewis mentioned that the Explorer Sea <br /> Scouts of Everett and Charlestown participated in the <br />
