151 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> April 10, 1958 <br /> The 29th meeting of the Town Celebrations Com- <br /> mittee was held in the Conference Room of Cary Memorial <br /> Hall on April 10, 1958, at 8 00 p.m Present were <br /> Messrs Gustin, Poehler, Lewis, Cole, Rooney, and Mes- <br /> dames Pullen, Litchfield <br /> Also present were Mr E Alden Eriksson, Mr. Peck- <br /> ham of "United Farmers", Mr Little of "Executone, " and <br /> Mrs LaPorte of the Girl Scouts <br /> Mr Eriksson asked permission to record on tape <br /> the sounds of April 19th. such as the church bells, the RECORDING <br /> Belfry, the exercises on the Common, etc The Committee <br /> voted to send a letter to Police Chief Rycroft asking <br /> him to make arrangements for Mr Eriksson to park his <br /> car with. recording equipment near the Common <br /> Mr Peckham of "United Farmers" sought permission <br /> to have a "United Farmers" truck precede the fire truck FLOAT <br /> with "Big Brother" on it Mr Gustin outlined specifi- <br /> cations for a Commercial float and felt that the truck <br /> failed to qualify <br /> { <br /> Mr Little of "Executon.e" appeared before the <br /> Committee in regard to the sound system for the day <br /> Mrs LaPorte was present in connection with. <br /> making arrangements for the Girl Scouts to be in the <br /> early morning parade <br /> Mr Streeter Stuart will be notified in case of <br /> bad weather so that the announcement can be made over <br /> the air <br /> Mr Lewis specified that there can be no addi- <br /> tional parade entries after April tenth. <br /> Judy McNamara and Murray Ingraham have been named <br /> contacts for the Student Council of the High School in <br /> connection with the distribution of the Certificates of <br /> Birth <br /> Mr Gustin reported that "Universal Decorating" <br /> will decorate the stands, etc . <br /> Mrs Pullen reported that Mr Jack Frost of <br /> "Yankee Homecoming" will have a definite program of <br /> their activities by next Tuesday, April 15th <br />
