1. 39 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> March. 13, 1958 <br /> The 25th meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held at 8 15 p.m. , March 13, 1958 in <br /> the Conference Room, Cary Memorial Hall Present <br /> were Messrs Gustin, Rooney, Lewis, Cole, and <br /> Mesdames Litchfield, Williams and Pullen <br /> Also present were Mrs LaPorte representing <br /> Girl Scouts; Mr and Mrs Colby Kelly, Bob Baptiste <br /> and Pauline Borselli representing the "Prom-enaders"; <br /> Charles Glenn representing the Student Council; Mr <br /> M A. Seabury from "The Lexington Inn"; and Miss <br /> Louella. Cannam representing "Yankee Homecoming " <br /> Proofs of programs for April 19, 1958 were <br /> passed around, and corrections were made in them. <br /> It was reported that the "Promenaders" Queen <br /> will be chosen at the Promenaderst Birthday Ball, PROMENADERS <br /> March twenty-ninth Initial publicity about the Queen <br /> will come from the Committee and the public will be <br /> welcome to come to the Ball to see the Queen chosen <br /> Mrs LaPorte reported that a prize-winning Girl <br /> Scout drum-and-bugle corps of some years ago is get- GIRL SCOUTS <br /> ting together drums, bugles and uniforms and plans to <br /> marchin the parade <br /> Mr Seabury asked whether the reception that <br /> day could be held at "The Lexington Inn" instead of LEXINGTON <br /> Cary Hall He offered the entire facilities of the INN <br /> Inn to the Celebrations Committee for use on April <br /> 19th and suaaested that we n1a^ mv-ite- Se-natcrs <br /> Saltonstall and Kennedy and Governor Furcolo to par- <br /> ticipate in the activities for the day The Com- <br /> mittee voted that we have the luncheon at "The Lex- <br /> ington Inn, " and voted that we accept Mr Seabury' s <br /> invitation to have the reception at the Inn, also <br /> Mr Murray Dearborn will be in charge of the recep- <br /> tion <br /> Invitations will be sent to the six New Eng- <br /> land governors to be guests that day <br /> Questions about securing national publicity <br /> for the 1958 Celebration were brought up by Mr Sea- <br /> bury and Miss Cannam Mrs . Pullen suggested that <br /> she act as researchperson for Miss Cannam, and send <br /> L- all news about the activities on to her Miss <br />
