131 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> February 6, 1958 <br /> The 21st meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held at 8 15 p.m , February 6, 1958 <br /> in the Conference Room, Cary Memorial Hall Pre- <br /> sent: Messrs. Gustin, Poehler, Lewis, Cole ; Mrs. <br /> Pullen and Mrs Litchfield Also, Mrs . William E <br /> Maloney, Mr and Mrs Skinner, Mr James Sumner, <br /> Bob Baptiste, Ruth Morash, Mr and Mrs Colby Kelly, <br /> for Promenaders <br /> Mr. Gustin explained the set-up and func- <br /> tion of this committee Plans for the participation PROMENADERS <br /> of. the Promenaders on the 19th were discussed They <br /> will hold a dance the night of the 18th The girl <br /> chosen as "queen" will be featured in the parade <br /> Instead of calling her "queen" the committee sug- <br /> gested "Lady Lexington" Suggestions will be taken <br /> back to the Promenaders for further discussion Mr <br /> Kelley asked the committee if financial help could <br /> be given to defray expenses of the dance, and was <br /> informed by the committee that town money could not <br /> be so used. <br /> Mrs Litchfield will ask Mrs . Cheever if she <br /> could continue to run off copies of secretary' s <br /> minutes . Committee insists she should be reimbursed <br /> for this service <br /> Letter from selectmen was read, appointing APPOINTMENT - <br /> Mrs Sidney B. Williams to Mrs Cheever' s unexpired MRS WILLIAMS <br /> term <br /> :+Fre. Litchfield-was-ine L.-,.. Lod Lu write all <br /> organizations in town asking them to meeting Feb <br /> 27, 1958 in Estabrook Hall, to discuss plans for <br /> the 19th. <br /> Mr Lewis said he and Mr Hutchins will meet <br /> shortly to send out invitations to military units I <br /> and bands <br /> Mrs Litchfield was asked to write Chief <br /> Rycroft, inviting him to meeting March 6th to work <br /> out plans for police protection on the 19th <br /> Mr Gustin read letter from Lions Club for <br /> permission for road race , award of white tricorne <br /> hat, entry of float, and sale of tricorne hats Mr <br />
